What I didn't like about this episode is the same thing I don't like whenever shows focus on some issue for an episode. They spend the entire episode shoving some message into the faces of the audience every single scene they can manage, while making characters who normally couldn't care less preach about it the entire episode. Yeah, [insert issue here] and it's bad, can we get back to something resembling an actual plot? To be fair though, they did do a fairly good job of integrating that message into the episode's plot here, so points for that.
That's pretty much how the show as always been though, Bones too. It's either one of the 3 or 4 people they focus on or some guy who comes out of nowhere in the last 10 minutes.
"After months of anticipation, the news about Jimmy Palmer's adopted baby was a huge letdown." A letdown true, but also utterly predictable. The fact that just about every scene Palmer has been in for the last season or so has been about his worry and excitement about getting a baby pretty much guaranteed that he'd have the baby pulled away from him at the last moment. When they make such a massive deal about something like this for so long it being a letdown is pretty much assured, it's only when they just spring it on the audience out of nowhere does it really work. What made it even more predictable was the fact that Palmer went for a birth mother to get the baby instead of getting one from an adoption agency, that NEVER ends well on T.V.
