Continuing on my Insatiable rant :) :
As far as the plot goes, I remember the writers describing Insatiable as a "game changer" and I think that describes it very well. The whole episode had a very different feel to it from all the other episodes before. I don't know if I can put my finger on it but it felt like we entered a new era. The procedural element had already been missing for a few episodes, so it wasn't that. And it wasn't simply Gabe's presence either because he was already there in Any Means Possible. Was it seeing a very cool, gum-chewing Vincent and JT as undercover "investigators" at the antique weapons store? Evan agreeing to compromise evidence for Muirfield? Joe keeping Tess on the side lines in order to protect her? The suggestion that Gabe is the one trying to set Vincent up and trying to get to him before the authorities? Evan finding Vincent's DNA on Cat's scarf and later admitting to JT that he's in kahoots with Muirfield? Catherine suggesting that her and Vincent could never again lose themselves in each other and that they have to be more sensible from now on? Or was it Tess finding Vincent in the tunnels and shooting him? Probably all of those things put together :) So many things happened in Insatiable and it seems everyone is out there in the open and vulnerable...Vincent especially (and literally). This is definitely a new era for BATB.
And the entering of this new era was powerfully brought home by the burning down of the warehouse, or the three musketeers' "home", or the old lair. A new safe haven is needed and a new home...maybe one that will shelter not only Vincent, Cat and JT but Tess as well. There are definitely new times ahead of us...personally, I can't wait!
