I think Jane's question about the future probably was just him wondering if Lisbon had ever thought of leaving the FBI. (I mean I don't think there are many people who have over 20 years in Law Enforcment, Jane mentioned Lisbon had 20 years in Law Enforcment before the 2 year time jump last season, or at least not many that have positions where they go out in the feild and investigate. Most with more then 20 years are probably in Desk posistion.) I mean Jane can't leave because as they showed last season the FBI is the only reason why he isn't in jail for killing Red John, and I don't think the FBI will allow him to leave. So unless Jane can find a way to make a deal with the FBI that will allow him to walk away, I can't see Jane being able to leave. But Lisbon doesn't have anything to worry about since Jane wouldn't make Lisbon do anything that she wouldn't do, I mean besides being in love with her another reason he probably made her a demand of working for the FBI was because he knew that she was unhappy being a Police Chief in Washington State.
I had figured Mashburn was going to be one of the names from the past mentioned, though for some reason I had completely forgotten Loralei. I think that Erica telling her boyfriend was done more because she had hoped that Lisbon would have gotten hurt or maybe killed, I mean the look she had when her boyfriends goons took Jane away, did not look to me as someone that was going to do something to earn trust, she looked to me more like someone who had a plan and a wrnch had been thrown into it.
Diffrent defination of the word flame. I never considered Erica a flame of Jane's.
