So now we are told that TM is casting for a boyfriend for Lisbon so she can have some kind of social life. That should send Jane into a small panic. When he was obsessed with finding and killing RJ he was OK with Lisbon having a relationship with someone else because he expected to either die or be imprisoned for life and he wanted her to be happy. He even pretty much set up that one night stand she had with Mashburn. Now he has a future to look forward to and certainly has assumed Lisbon would be part of it. So is he going to "get even" by romancing Kim? I hope not. This whole scenario sounds way too soap operaish to me.
Now heres a thought about the FBI. They may be smarter than we think. We know from previous episodes that they have been watching Jane ever since he first showed up at CBI. That's about 12 years of observation. They know exactly how he operates and they want him to operate that way for them. They need to save face and appear very law-enforcing and professional, so they lure Jane to the U.S. and get tough on him, forcing Jane to manipulate his way into having his own way. The FBI knew he would do this. So Jane comes up with his fake list and the FBI says it's so important they will leave Jane alone for the 5 years of his contract with them and he can reveal the names then. Abbott is not dumb. He and the FBI know the list is fake but by pretending it's legit they get to uphold the law while leaving Jane free to solve their crimes for them in ways the FBI is not allowed to do. it's win-win. When it's time to reveal the names, no one will care and/or they will find a good reason why the list no longer matters. Maybe that will be the series finale. Maybe Jane and Lisbon will ride off into the sunset in their Airstream. Yeah, I know. That's pretty lame.
I think it was Ani who is worried about not having a mystery for us to try to solve anymore. If so, here's one: Why does Jane want an Airstream trailer? What devious plan does he have in mind for it? Maybe something to do with his and Lisbon's relationship? Let's not get too carried away on this. Remember how the writers gave us clue after clue about Red John, then threw all those scripts away and pulled McCallister out of a grab bag - a guy who fit none of the RJ characteristics we had been given. Oh well, what's done is done and the new Jane is lots of fun, giving us another mystery: We have no way to know what he will do with his life now. Every episode will probably deepen the mystery. But is there a clue in that Airstream? Given what the writers did with RJ, not even they know.
