I'm not saying there wasn't any love. But really, dating since they were 10? When you are 10 you are not dating, you are playing house or something. It's like saying my first love was when I was 6. And when they grew up, they kind of grew apart. It was never a relationship between two grown-ups. And I don't remember how their relationship was in season 2... that alone speaks of how unimportant it seems in retrospective. They were bored and she probably wanted to go to the prom with Nate (ok, maybe more than that, but still they just fell 'confortable' with each other). Even Chuck said there was no passion, no spark. When you are 19 and there is no passion, your relationship is doomed.
However, this thread is not about what I think about Blair and Nate's relationship. I was just stating that I think Blair would always feel second best with Dan if the writers keep them in character. Of course Dan could fall head over heels in love for her, but so can Bart rise from the dead, or Lily be Serena's sister.. it's fiction... they can write whatever they want, but still some stories make more sense than other.
How do you know this when DB hasn't even happened yet? For all we kno, Dan might grow to love Blair more. Nate was always Blair's dream boy and first love, and we all know what happened to them.
I don't think Nate and Blair's relationship can compare to Dan and Serena's (first season at least). I've always thought Blair like the idea of being with Nate Archibald more than Nate Archibald himself. He was probably the most handsome guy from St. Jude's, he came from a good family, him and Blair had been together since they were kids. It felt more like a habit and Blair enjoying being with the golden boy rather than an epic love. I'm not saying she didn't have true feelings for him. But for me it was never a strong relationship like Dan and Serena's in season 1.
Maybe Dan falls in love with Blair, but what are the chances of his love for her growing stronger than his love for Serena? Dan and Blair have known each other for years and Dan (or Blair for the matter) never saw something in the other. All of a sudden they have feelings for each other.
And besides, in the initial stages of Dan and Blair's relationship, she would feel insecure, that's all I'm saying.
Sorry can someone explain this episode with more details? Like why did Lily got Ben arrested and what about Damien. Did Serena have a thing for Ben but nothing happened? How did Juliet end?
