  I don't think they'll let George live because his recovery would take up a major part of the next season and this, to a great extent, would be a bit repetitious to Izzie's storyline this season (of course, there are major differences, but the core is the same- one of the main (?) doctors on the show turns into a patient). Moreover, if they let Izzie live, we would have both characters lying in hospital's beds. I don't think this is going to happen.
  

• Grey's Anatomy Spoilers: T.R. Goes, George Stays? (5/21/2009)

  Does anyone remember when the rumours about KH and TR.K wanting to be off the show actually started? Because I thought they appeared already in the fourth season or even earlier (I might be wrong though). It can mean that either we shouldn't believe the gossips (both actors stayed so far despite the rumours), or that they really want to be off the show and that this whole season was leading making us ready for their departure. I personally think that KH will stay and the rumours about her departure were, at least partly, a publicity stunt to make us wonder if Izzie survives or not till the next season. However, in case of TR Knight, I think that this season was supposed to make us used to not seeing George in the future. He got so little airtime that it kind of worked, in a way. But, of course, the writers know how much George is liked, so a cliffhanger must have been written into the script to make his departure less obvious.
