I don't think it is always that clear cut. I think most people would agree that being driven to achieve your goals isn't bad. If you want smoething and you go for it to attain it, than I admire your strength and determination. But it all depends on how you go about it. If you intentionally disregard or hurt others in the process, than that is not admirable, but hard work and determination always is. Sometimes, there are unintentional, but unavoidable, consequences of your actions and that's ok. However, there are some poeple who love a machiavellian attitude and will applaud your ends regardless of your means.
That's the thing: My Bosses, the higher ones, are more than okay with me wanting to reach my goals but my team-leader, as in my direct boss hates me for it since I'm that much more determind to get what I want to work hard and a lot for it while she isn't and doesn't want ppl to see (they can compare, the other bosses) so she talks shit behind my back and points my bad habits out to the bosses.
