Walter: It's been a long time since a classic fruit cocktail. Why do you think that is?
Astrid: I suppose loading fruit with sugar, artificial flavor and dyes has just fallen out of favor.
Walter: That's a shame, isn't it?

Hi Astrid, Why do people have to pick on canned fruit? We suffer enough as an industry against chinese imports, customer misperceptions and incorrect public assumptions. Did you know there are many forms of canned fruit that have no sugar added and are packed in 100% natural juice? These items are really good and weight watchers assigns no points for consuming these no sugar canned fruit items. Also, The Linus Pauling Institute did a study for Oregon State University that found canned fruit is fresher than fresh fruit. That's right....due to the need to pick fresh fruit before it's ready and it's long life in the distribution chain....turns out that canned fruit ends up having 1.5 times the Vitamin A, 10 times the Folic acid, 2.5 times the carotenoids and the same amount of Viamin E and Antioxidants. Canned fruit ingredients are picked ready and ripe, pitted, peeled, sorted and cleaned just at the right time, have their freshness locked in and are shipped to consumers in a tamper-proof, sturdy, long shelf life lasting container that is 100% recycleable! It's done at 1/3 of the price for fresh fruit and we take the pit and the peel and the bruises out for free! Thanks for hearing me out! By the way, there are no artificial ingredients in canned fruit. Even the ones with sugar in them. All the best, Andy

I, too, have tried. I went so far as to ask God for help and what has he done? Nothing!
