Floyd, the one man Liz honestly thought she could have a possible future with, is back. However, all of her hopes were destroyed when she saw him on The Today Show, trying to earn them a wedding right outside the NBC building.
Liz is, of course, flabbergasted at the prospect of losing the man she still obviously has feelings for and invites him to the restaurant where she had multiple times before caught food poisoning by ordering the fish.
She confronted Floyd about the issue, and he apologized for not telling her in the first place.
Liz, still upset, tells him to try the fish, which was made with a Jack Daniels sauce. Floyd is a recovering alcoholic, and since he ordered the sauce on the side, the alcohol doesn’t cook out. He gets drunk after consuming three servings.
He proceeds to insult Liz on the Today show. Hilarious.
Liz reconciles with Floyd and his fiancée, who doesn’t have many girl friends. Liz agrees to be a part of their wedding, going above and beyond the call of ex duty.
The episode also featured Danny getting back at the TGS writers Frank, Lutz, and Toofer for publishing untrue statements he had never made in The New York Times.
He teams up with Jack in a group named after the “most handsome animal” – a silver panther! Their retaliation involves a news report about 30 Rock being attacked by not just gas, but also “a Cloverfield-like monster” who could be evaded if the guys took off all their clothes.
Jenna and Tracy deal with Kenneth’s inane stories. Their increasingly disturbing fantasies about Kenneth, who had invaded their subconscious, were filler, but amusing filler.
