The CW hit has sent out the following casting notice, as it seeks an actress to portray a new character named Lila:

Lila: A student at West Beverly who is both stylish and sarcastic, Lila is “chubby” and “heavier than our girls on the show.” Recurring potential.

Any thoughts on who ought to portray her?

Based on previously reported 90210 spoilers, fans know that John Schneider has landed a recurring role on season two. He'll play Liam's step-father.

Yes, the same man responsible for sending Liam to military school on the May finale. Based on Matt Lanter's talk with TV Guide Magazine, the feud between his character and this parent is far from over.

“We're butting heads and he's giving me s---. It's great, man," Lanter said. "What's funny is that he's the nicest guy out there and he's playing such a d--- on the show, but is really one of the nicest guys, a very generous actor and an all around good guy. I couldn't ask for anything more than to have a scene partner with someone like John Schneider.”

Meanwhile, AnnaLynne McCord said 90210 viewers will see her character scheming against rival Annie. How so? The actress explains:

“My funnest teaser that I have so far is Naomi gets some yummy, yummy blackmail vengeance on Annie and it's very bad. It's very bad – don't do this at home! In the first episode Naomi gets ahold of some material that she uses around school to blackmail Annie. So tune in September 8th!”

We wish we had better news for 90210 viewers that wish to see two of the show's couples live happily ever after.

It still might happen, but not this season.

When asked about her character's relationship status this fall, Jessica Stroup told E! News that Silver and Dixon aren't totally done, at least not when the series returns with new episodes on September 8.

"Will you see us kiss? Yes. Will we continue to kiss for the whole season? I don't know," she said, while Tristan Wilds added:

"It's definitely a rocky relationship. We're having our ups and our downs. You never know where we fall, but right now we're separated."

As previously announced, the show is casting for an older actress to play a love interest for Dixon this year.

As for Adrianna and Navid? The future might be even more bleak.

On-set photos have revealed Jessica Lowndes' character will get VERY friendly with newcomer Teddy, played by Trevor Donovan.

"I have a connection with Adrianna. We have a little past, so obviously I'm creating a little tension, a little drama," said Donovan.

Former Days of Our Lives star Trevor Donovan has joined the cast in the role of Teddy Montgomery, a pro tennis playing son of a movie star.

We spoke with Donovan earlier today and asked him about joining a series that really found its groove over the last few episodes of the spring...

TV Fanatic: Tell us about Teddy:
Trevor Donovan: He's a new student at West Beverly. His father is a two-time Oscar winner. Teddy is confident, affluent, but not overly pretentious.

TV Fanatic: Did you feel pressure joining a cast that has been together for a season already?
Donovan: Sure, at first it was a bit intimidating. Everyone else has been together for awhile now and developed a certain chemistry. But everyone was so, so so welcoming. It's been a great. A very smooth transition.

TV Fanatic: What did you think of the first season?
Donovan: I went back and watched the last few episodes to refresh my memory - and was really impressed with it. It was shot well and the scripts were a lot tighter. There's a distinct character direction now and everyone on set feels great about where it's going.

TV Fanatic: You're probably best known for your role on Days of Our Lives. What's the difference between daytime and primetime soap operas?
Donovan: Daytime drams are shot five days a week, an episode per day. You're under a lot more time constraints than a primetime show, where we shoot one episode per week and there are more takes, more time in general to play with things.

TV Fanatic: Did your background [Donovan hails from California and was a competitive snowboarder, skier and surfer growing up] help with your character?
Donovan: Definitely [Show runner Rebecca Rand Kirshner Sinclair] really wants to emphasize the Southern California vibe. That's the beach, that's nice weather... I'm on the surfing team and my background helped me relate easily to it all.

TV Fanatic: On-set photos of your character making out with Adrianna have popped up. What can you tell us about that development?
Donovan: All I can say is that Teddy's presence definitely creates tension among certain people and couples. There's a love triangle, if you will.

While 90210 has cast a pair of hunks to play significant roles on season two - namely, Trevor Donovan and Zachary Ray Sherman - the show hasn't forgotten to include some eye candy for its male viewers.

As first reported by TV Guide, Gillian Zinser will join the series as Ivy, a surfer chick that will flirt with both Dixon and Liam.

"She's the quintessential California girl — easy-going, athletic and full of fun," said an insider of Zinser's Ivy's, who will first appear in October.

The actress has already guest-starred on Cold Case, Southland and Cupid.

Season two of 90210 kicks off on September 8 on The CW.

You might wanna look away, Navid.

As we inch closer to season two of 90210, it's clear that this once-engaged character will lose his former fiancee to another man.

When 90210 returns for season two next month, life won't be easy for the Taylors.

As we hinted at a few weeks ago, and as Korbi Ghosh of Zap2It confirms in this week's mailbag, Kelly will develop feelings for the wrong person this fall.

According to Korbi, Kelly will "struggle" big time with her attraction to Harry Wilson, an emotional bond 90210 hinted at in the final couple episodes last May. (Seriously, Dylan, hurry back. Kelly needs you!)

A possible affair? The death of her mother? Kelly will be involved in major storylines on season two of 90210.

Meanwhile, Ann Gillespie is definitely coming back to the show. But it may be a tragic, short-lived return.

Reports indicate that Jackie Taylor is sick. Quite sick. When she makes her re-appearance, Jackie will try to reconcile with her daughters... before it's too late.

** Update: It's been confirmed that Jackie will be diagnosed with breast cancer on season two fifth's episode.

For weeks, rumors were flying that Ryan Eggold's 90210 character of Ryan Matthews would crossover to the new Melrose Place this fall.

But casting on the latter show has put an end to that plan: Jessica Lucas, who played a character that slept with Ryan on 90210, plays Riley Richmond on Melrose Place. It's confusing enough to explain, let alone air.

“Jessica’s character and had an affair with Ryan on 90210,” said Melrose Place producer Todd Slavkin. “So we clearly feel that’s something to avoid.”

So, will there be any crossover between these CW shows at all?

Jennie Garth and Tori Spelling are possibilities, Slavkin said. As a former Smallville producer, he told TV Guide Magazine:

“We love Tori Spelling. We worked with her on Smallville we thought she was great. And we’re huge fans of Jennie Garth. Both characters turned up on the original Melrose Place, so it would be fun.”
