After being in a coma for 17 months, detective John Kennex hopes to piece together the event which put him into the coma in order to stop a crime group known as The Syndicate. 

When he returns to active duty, Kennex is assigned a new partner, Dorian, a "synthetic," who is unlike the other android officers on the police force.
