Recap

No major shocker on this week's American Idol results show... except for the way Megan Joy acted all night, perhaps.

The singer either didn't care about the fact that she was in the bottom three, or simply chose to enjoy herself as much as possible during her final appearance. As soon as Joy was named as one of the lowest vote getters, she made a bird-flapping motion and cawed her way across the stage.

Joining Megan in the bottom three were Anoop Desai and Allison Iraheta.

Once Joy was eliminated, Simon Cowell seemed clearly bothered about her cheerful indifference. He actually said the judges would not save her, regardless of how well she sung her encore rendition.

"Megan, with the greatest respect, when you said that you don't care—nor do we," Simon told her before she sang. "So I'm not going to pretend that we're even going to contemplate saving you."

As a result, the Joy was over on season eight.

"Contestants, you are the best!" Megan said, addressing her finalists onstage. "Judges, I love you. America, I love you," and, to her son, Ryder, "Baby - I'm coing home, baby. I'm coming home!"

She broke down during the final part, making it clear that this crooner simply missed her boy. Similarly, we'll miss her beauty and spunky personality on the show.
