Recap

Avril Lavigne and Katy Perry weren't the most inspiring judges as American Idol took its audition shows to Los Angeles this week. Still, as always, we tune in for the contestants, not the critiques.

Below, we've summarized the best from last night...

Andrew Garcia: Seems like a very nice guy and the ladies will adore his smooth voice. He's rumored to make it to the final 24, is 23 years old, hails from Moreno Valley, CA and is a father. Received approval from all four judges after singing Maroon 5's "Sunday Morning."

Tasha Layton: 26 from Granada Hills, CA. She sung “Baby Baby Baby” by Josh Stone and is a part-time minister. That can only help her chances. Perry adored her, saying: “I love a good southern bell." Off to Hollywood!

Chris Golightly: A 25-year old from Los Angeles. He's been in foster care since he was 18 months old and auditioned with “Stand By Me." Chris talks about wanting to be loved as a child and Randy finds him interesting, but Katy spouts out favorite line of the night: “This is not a Lifetime movie." HA! Still, he's off to Hollywood, as Fox lamely plays Miley Cyrus' "The Climb" as he leaves.

Finally, this was kind of funny: Jason Castro's brother Michael and Daniel Franco of Project Runway Season 1 and 2 were featured in the “Adam Lambert Look-alikes” segment.
