Big Brother 13 Finale: The Winner is ...

Could Rachel Reilly do the impossible?

On the season finale of Big Brother 13, she seemed poised to. The enemy of the house for so long - multiple summers now - was about to complete the ultimate comeback. If she could win HoH, $500K would be hers.

Or would it?

Not surprisingly, she ousted Porsche Briggs and Adam Poch in the first part of the final Head of Household battle, then bested the former in the final portion. Given the choice of who to bring to the jury, she chose ...

Porsche. Rachel liked her odds against this floater better, perhaps due to Adam's pure likability. Porsche had been the stronger competitor in recent weeks, no doubt earning her place in the finale. But winning it?

Surprisingly, she came close.

Kalia and Dani both voted for Porsche. Adam also voted for her, which was somewhat unexpected. But it mattered not. Rachel had Brendon, Jeff and Jordan all along, putting the decisive vote in the hands of Shelly.

She made the right decision in the end. Despite her misgivings about Rachel's personality, of which there are admittedly too many to count, Shelly gave her the half million. Porsche, $50,000 isn't a bad runner-up haul.

Jeff Schroeder picked up $25,000 as America's favorite houseguest, meanwhile, coming away with something after his early exit from a season he appeared on track to win at several points. Way to go, Jeff.

The Big Brother 13 field is down to three.

Heading into last night's veto and eviction episode, only HoH Adam had secured her spot in the final trio. With the veto up for grabs and still so many twists of fate possible, the other two spots were wide open.

Until Porsche stepped up and won the thing, convincingly at that.

She saved herself, leaving Rachel and Jordan firmly on the block.

Heading into last night's rare Wednesday eviction episode, only HoH Rachel had secured her spot in the final quartet. With the veto up for grabs and many twists possible, the other three spots were open.

Until Adam stepped up and won the thing. Despite Kalia's pleas, you knew the ultimate Big Brother fanboy was not going to turn his back on Rachel and Jordan. It came down to a (strangely) 1-1 vote and ...

Kalia got the boot. Then Adam turned around and won HoH too!

Big Brother: Shelly Scrambles to Stay Alive

Rachel is a competitor on Big Brother. She doesn't let us forget this. The irony of it all is that by keeping Adam instead of Shelly, she'd be rewarding the ultimate floater.

After the events of this past week, Rachel controlled who stayed and who went last night. Shelly was not about to go quietly, that's for sure. She fought hard to stay.

Did it pay off, though? Would Rachel and Jordan take someone to the final five that they knew they could beat, or discard the ultimate dead weight once and for all?

Big Brother: Rachel Makes Her Move

Rachel has always been a competitor on Big Brother. She doesn't let us forget.

After the events of this past week, however, Rachel may finally be in a position to do more than compete. Given that she'll be among the final five, she could actually win.

Especially when you consider how badly the Pandora's Box twist hurt Porsche, and when the jury pits Rachel against Adam or Kalia, would someone really reward the latter?

Fallout from Daniele and Jeff's shocking double eviction continued to play out on Big Brother Sunday, with a look back at some of the events of the previous week.

It's clear that with Jeff gone, this is anyone's game, and no one knows quite how to react in the aftermath of Shelly's machinations. It's certainly interesting at least.

The return of Pandora's Box then complicated matters for new HOH Porsche, who potentially screwed herself and her alliance over big time by opening its contents.

Big Brother: Who Was Eliminated Via Double Eviction?

Big Brother saw two house guests go home last night in a double eviction episode that shook up the entire season. The results were both surprising, to say the least.

Having back-doored Daniele, Jeff seemingly held all the power, but she fought hard to stay in the house and looked like she might pull it off, setting up a huge swing.

That was just in the first 15 minutes, too. What followed was a week's worth of the show condensed into 30 minutes, and a second cast member sent out the door.

Big Brother: Big Jeff Makes His Big Move

Jeff is very good at Big Brother. In competitions, yes, but primarily when it comes to playing all the angles and building relationships in a seemingly sincere manner.

Already HoH, the Chicagoan captured the veto last night, leaving the power in his hands. Would he play it safe or launch a full-scale assault on his opposing alliance?

More importantly, could he do so without blood on his hands?

Big Brother: Another Major Shift in Power

Jeff took control last night on Big Brother, but will he regret that later?

Will the Chicagoan use the power to his advantage, or handcuff himself later as Kalia did? As someone who regularly reminds us of his "honest" play, back-dooring Dani could hurt his reputation. However, it could also be worth the risk in the end.

Elsewhere, Rachel tried to act, and Shelly has never heard of avocados.
