Big Love Recap: "Sacrament"

Last night was the much hyped season three finale of Big Love and it delivered everything it promised.  For the past month we knew a major character was dying and even had a potential list for you.  Guess what, the man that died was on that list and the means we reported were used.

So what else happened in this action packed episode of Big Love?  Well the episode focused on Bill and Roman doing the exchange with Hollis for Cindy and Ted's daughter, Kim Lee.  But behind the action, Margene was selling her jewelry on QVC, Nicki was dealing with a new addition to her family, and Sarah proposed to Scott!

Big Love: Season Three Finale and Season Four Spoilers

Big Love's incredibly short ten episode season three comes to an end this Sunday with "Sacrament."  HBO has been fairly tight lipped about the finale, revealing this as their tagline on the official website: "Final Showdown: It's Nicki's day of reckoning... Barb faces a spiritual crisis and Margene takes charge... but who will be the last man standing?"

Ausiello Files has learned from Bill Paxton that this season finale, unlike last, will end in a cliffhanger.  He also reveals that next season, the creepy J.J. (Zeljko Ivanek) will be back for season four in a big way.

Last week J.J. revealed that he may or may not have had a daughter with Nicki when he was previously sealed to her.  Nicki refused to see whoever the girl was that he had with her.

Nicki was previously sealed.. but did she also have a daughter?

Big Love Recap: "Outer Darkness"

Last night's episode of Big Love, "Outer Darkness" was the controversial episode that the Church of Latter Day Saints was not happy about.  In the episode, Barb was being ex-communicated from the Church and wanted nothing more than to perform some of the rituals she grew up with.

In addition to getting a look at some of the Mormon rituals, we also had plenty of drama.  There was a kidnapping, brothers disowning each other, and Nicki begging to not be unsealed.  Oh and did we mention Nicki might have a daughter?

Big Love Season One Quotes

Everyone's favorite Mormon family on television, the Henricksons, certainly have a lot of drama, but there's also plenty of witty and funny lines in this intense show.

Big Love Spoilers: Means of Death

We're dying to know who's going to kick the bucket on the season three finale of Big Love.  So much so that we were willing to make that pun.

As another update to the mystery of who's going to die, Ausiello teases us with the means of this person's death.  According to his latest column, Ausiello reveals that the person who dies will die of suffocation.  (Well, he technically said "Su****a**on," but we filled in the blanks for you)

So far we know that Sarah is safe.  As a refresher, you can take a look at this list of potential victims and their respective odds of dying.

Bill

Don't worry ladies, only one of you is at risk.  Sorry, Nicki.

Church of LDS Offended by Big Love

The Church of Latter-Day Saints is in an uproar about next week's episode of Big Love.  According to the Big Love spoilers, Barb will be going inside a Mormon temple and some of their "sacred ceremonies" will be portrayed.

Jeanne Tripplehorn as Barbara Hernrickson

You can read the official message from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  Summary?

They feel the writers of Big Love are being insensitive - but like South Park and Lawrence O'Donnell in the past, they will survive this. Have no fear.

Big Love Recap: "Rough Edges"

On last night's Big Love, the backdrop for the episode was set at the funeral for Roman's wife-to-be, Kathy.  As with the case of any family with as much drama as the Henricksons, the funeral was only a small part of the episode.

Bill, Barb and MargenePoor Joey

Bill tried to get the DA (Ray), to prosecute Roman for Kathy's death and as a result; Ray came to visit Nicki at home; Margene started up her jewelry business; and Bill sent Doug to investigate why he didn't get the casino license.  Oh and there's so much more to catch up with in our "Rough Edges" recap.

Big Love Spoilers: Sarah is Safe!

Anyone who follows our Big Love spoilers knows by now that we still have another major death happening in the season three finale.  Earlier this week we hinted that Sarah might die during the season finale.

Now, thanks to Ausiello's latest spoiler column, we're happy to say that Sarah does not die on the Big Love season finale!  So now the question is, which major character is dying if it's not Sarah!?

Amanda Seyfried as Sarah Henrickson

Fear not Sarah, you're here for season four.

Big Love Spoilers: Avenging Kathy

If you're as devastated about what happened to Kathy on last week's Big Love, then you'll be as happy as we were to hear form Big Love's creator, Will Scheffer.  When Kristin emailed the boss man if we're ever going to get vengeance for what Roman did to Kathy, Scheffer responded by saying, "Oh, you'll get it somehow."

Kathy and Wanda

Oh and for those of you who are still dying to know who the second death of this season will be, maybe the recent promotional posters for Sarah that read "Dying to get out" offer up some sort of clue.  I suppose her film career after Mamma Mia! might be ready for her.

Big Love Interview with the Cast

Recently, The LA Times was lucky enough to sit down with the principal cast of Big Love: Bill Paxton and the three lovely ladies that play his wives.  Here's an excerpt of our favorite questions from an amazing interview:

LA Times: What about your characters are you still wondering about?
Tripplehorn: A lot. No, I still don't understand my character. You hear a lot about people who've done a series over a long period of time, and the writing and the actual acting kind of blur because the actors know their characters so well. I haven't personally felt that.

LA Times: Do you mean because Barb is so conventional, so why would she --
Tripplehorn: She's not conventional, really. I mean, yes, she is, but she's just really conflicted. And then sometimes she's accepting of situations that I would have thought were established that Barb wouldn't like.
Goodwin [to Tripplehorn]: Most of my questions are about your character. I understand why Nicki is here, I understand why Margie is here. I understand exactly what it is Bill is up to. But as a viewer, I have trouble wrapping my brain around your decision.
Sevigny: Toward the end of the season, it gets hard for me, because my character is so --
Goodwin: Manipulative.
Sevigny: It's just that Nicki has so few kind moments or tender moments, and she's always doing something --

Bill and His Wives

LA Times: I feel like Nicki is an incredibly sympathetic character and really funny.
Sevigny: But people don't see her that way!

LA Times: Is that still true?
Tripplehorn: I find her to be very sympathetic.
Paxton [to Sevigny]: I think the way they keep revealing the things you went through, you can't help but get why she is the way she is. I like her resilience.
Tripplehorn: She's damaged.
Goodwin: Give her a break.

You can read the rest of the interview at The LA Times.
