Recap

-The Ortiz family is the victim of a home invasion where they are robbed and Mrs. Ortiz is beaten. Later, Phil, one of the robbers is shot to death on the street.

-Danny and Jackie arrest the father who confesses to killing the man. Danny feels he was entitled to protect his family but Erin points out that the letter of the law says he should be charged with manslaughter.

-When the second robber is found, he admits that they targeted the Ortiz family because they were immigrants but the son shot Phil, not the father.

-When the son says he shot Phil because he thought he'd come back and hurt his family Danny encourages him to put that he feared for his safety in his statement.  Erin gets a high end attorney to defend Ortiz pro bono.

-Nicky has been particularly surly with Erin.  Turns out she called her father and asked to go with him for take your daughter to work day and he turned her down.

-Three college kids are arrested for assaulting police officers when a protest over tuition increases gets out of hand. One of the kids is the mayor's illegitimate daughter. 

-The mayor never asks Frank for a favor but Frank and the DA decide to drop the charges from a felony to a misdemeanor to give the kids a second chance.
