The murder mystery on “Punked” dealt with a Wall Street worker, Daniel Goldstein, who was found shot in a park without his clothes. The bullet found in the body was confirmed to be 200 years old and the crime scene set the tone for an old fashioned duel.
Castle is set on the theory of time travel, which would explain the old fashioned clothes found belonging to the victim, as well as the bullets.
The detectives discover that Goldstein was responsible for investors recently loosing millions of dollars. A paper found in the victim’s car led the detectives to a son of a former investor. Goldstein got the son (Adam) a job at a private steam punk society he belonged to that had parties themed in old fashioned times. Goldstein’s co-worker, Troy, admitted to shooting Daniel, explaining the duel was to impress their assistant, Juliet. Beckett finds facts showing that Troy was not the real shooter, leading to the arrest of the real murderer, Adam.
At the end of the shift, a man shows up to pick up Beckett. Turns out that she is dating someone, catching Castle off guard.
