To keep Kirstin from taking a job in Chicago, Travis tries to find his grandmother's wedding ring in a time capsule Jules and Bobby buried for him to open on his 18th birthday. Jules couldn't deal with it and tried to hide it from him, but Ellie convinced her that she shouldn't meddle in his life anymore because that is what her mother did to her and now they no longer speak. Jules gave the time capsule to Travis and told him she would support him no matter what path he chooses.

Laurie convinced Bobby to try and sell Penny Cans, much to Grayson's dismay. They bought the materials to make them, even got a commercial spot on the radio, but weren't getting any traction.

Andy, meanwhile, thought women were hitting on him in the bar, but Grayson thought he was being ridiculous. When Andy challenged Grayson's supportiveness over this and Bobby's Penny Can idea, Grayson tried to prove Andy that one of the women wasn't trying to hit on him, but ended up making her very, very tall boyfriend angry. Andy and Grayson hid in Grayson's car, but the man tipped the car over in the parking lot.

Grayson decided it was better to be a supportive friend, even if the friends were making a mistake, and hosted Penny Can night at the bar.

Ellie thought a ghost was living in her truck because her glasses were always moved and it would seem to move to a different location when she would leave and come back. Jules was just messing with her by moving the truck when Ellie wasn't looking.
