Cougar Town Season 3 Footage: A Very Extended Preview

Cougar Town kicks off its long-awaited third season on Valentine's Day.

But creator Bill Lawrence has already given fans a present this week that goes far behind candy hearts and long-stem roses.

In an attempt to promote the heck out of his sitcom, Lawrence has released a long, extended look at episodes to com... 10 minutes worth, to be exact!

In the following video preview, Cougar Town viewers can sit back and enjoy sneak peeks at a cul-de-sac zip line; an awesome dance sequence; an appearance by Sarah Chalke; and Jules wondering who the heck Alice Cooper is, among lots of other footage. Enjoy!

As if a wedding between Jules and Grayson on the season three finale of Cougar Town wasn't exciting enough, fans can now look forward to the following casting scoop:

David Arquette will play a role on the concluding episode.

According to TV Line, Courteney Cox's estranged husband - who serves as a producer on the sitcom and who remains close to his separated wife - will come on board as a very helpful hotel concierge.

Following far too long of an absence, Cougar Town returns with new episodes on February 14.

Grab your giant wine glasses and celebrate, Cougar Town fans. One of the funniest sitcoms on television is FINALLY coming back with new episodes.

As expected, the sitcom will takeover the spot vacated by Work It and debut at 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 14. We can't think of anyplace we'd rather be on Valentine's Day than snuggled up on the couch with our loved one, watching the cul-de-sac crew... can you?

Despite not having been on the air for months, Cougar Town has remained in the news. That's because creator Bill Lawrence and company have actually been touring the country, sponsoring their very own viewing parties and keeping buzz about the show going.

Just another reason why this is one of the coolest shows out there.

ABC Axes Work It, Cougar Town Boss Hopes for Time Slot

Doubly good news out of ABC today, or at least the potential for it:

The network has canceled Work It after two episodes, following a decrease in ratings from the 6.1 million folks who (somehow) turned out for the pilot to the 4.8 who watched episode two. In its place, ABC will rerun installments of Last Man Standing...

... until hopefully inserting season three of Cougar Town into the Tuesday night schedule.

That's what creator Bill Lawrence is banking on at least, Tweeting last night: “Hoping CT’s premiere date will be announced [next week]. Fingers crossed... I feel good about Tuesday.”

Who is Getting Married on Cougar Town?

Cougar Town is in the unusual position of filming its season three finale prior to ABC even announcing a date for its season three premiere date.

But such is life for creators creators Bill Lawrence and Kevin Biegel, who have been organizing campaigns and parties around the country in order to promote the sitcom on their own. It's pretty cool.

At one of these events in Los Angeles last night, Biegel spilled a major spoiler to TV Line: the season will conclude will Jules and Grayson GETTING MARRIED. He explained his reasoning as:

"We wanted to do a real adult relationship with two people who make sense together. So the third season starts with Jules and Grayson getting engaged, and it ends with them getting married.”

Let's all raise a giant glass of wine to the happy couple!

Cougar Town Casts Distant Love Interest for Laurie

Cougar Town - which really is returning to ABC some this this spring, the network swears - has tracked down a love interest for Laurie.

According to TV Line, Edwin Hodge will appear on multiple episodes of the sitcom as Wade, a U.S. soldier who gets involved with Busy Philipps’ hilarious character. Look for these two to interact mostly over Skype, as Wade is stationed in the Middle East.

Hodge, the brother of Leverage star Aldis Hodge, has appeared on Bones, The Mentalist and CSI: Miami.

ABC Unveils Cougar Town-Less Midseason Scedule

We may soon be facing a television world that does not include Community or Cougar Town.

A few days after NBC broke the hearts of every Greendale Community College fan, ABC has released a midseason schedule that, surprisingly, does NOT include everyone's favorite cul-de-sac.

Sources say Courteney Cox and crew will definitely be returning, likely in March and likely for only 15 episodes. But, for now, here is what viewers can look forward to for certain:

Cougar Town to Stage Scrubs Reunion

A number of TV Fanatic favorite are set to scrub in to Cougar Town.

TV Line reports the amazing news that Zach Braff and Robert Maschio will guest star on a season three episode of this ABC comedy. Yes, folks, JD and The Todd themselves!

The appearance by these Scrubs alums will coincide with Sarah Chalke guest-starring as Bobby’s new girlfriend, along with stints on Cougar Town by Sam Lloyd and Ken Jenkins. Let's all give the creator of both shows, Bill Lawrence, a Todd-like high-five, shall we?

Now, if ABC would just announce a third season premiere date already...

Cougar Town Casts Ellie's Mother

Susan Blakely has been cast in a horribly exciting new role.

The veteran actress (Men of a Certain Age, Southland) will appear this season on Cougar Town, TV Line confirms, portraying Ellie's mother and initially making a positive impression on Ellie's friends. But that won't last very long.

An ABC source says those around Ellie will quickly understand why she refers to her mom as a "horrible person."

No premiere date has been set for Cougar Town yet. Insiders hint that it may air prior to 2012, however.

Sarah Chalke to Join Cougar Town for Extended Arc

Sarah Chalke is reuniting with Bill Lawrence, who former boss on Scrubs.

The actress, who we loved as Dr. Eillot Reed and who also appeared on many episodes of How I Met Your Mother in 2008-2009, will come on board Cougar Town for an extended arc in early 2012.

According to Michael Ausiello, the actress will portray Angie, a love interest for Bobby. The good news? She'll be around for awhile. The bad news? We still have no idea when Cougar Town will return.
