Things are getting emotional on Dancing with the Stars.

The couples danced routines in the first round of the competition that are inspired by their personal icons, offering some pretty emotional stories.

Carlos and Witney started off the night with an entertaining Salsa that earned a score of 27.

Alek and Lindsey followed with an emotional Contemporary routine that earned a score of 25.

Andy and Allison danced a Viennese Waltz that honored Andy's late mother, earning a score of 22.

Alexa and Mark followed with an Argentine Tango that earned a score of 25.

Nick and Sharna then danced another emotional Contemporary routine that earned a perfect score of 30.

After their dance, the sex of Nick's baby was revealed on live television. He and his wife are having a boy!

Bindi and Derek danced a Foxtrot that earned a score of 28.

Tamar and Val danced a Paso Doble that also earned a score of 28.

For the second round, the couples participated in a dance off challenge. Nick and Sharna were granted immunity and did not have to participate.

At the end of the night, another couple was eliminated. This week, Andy and Allison were sent home.
