Chuck Liddell, Anna Trebunskaya Kicked Off Dancing with the Stars

Hips don't lie, as Shakira says.

That proved to be the case for Joanna Krupa and Mya, who made it to safety within the first half hour of Tuesday evening's Dancing With the Stars.

Of course Michael Irvin and his practically stationary feet also got an easy pass into next week, so maybe this show really is about the fans at home.

Which is kind of obvious, right?

Anyway, the axe fell on Ultimate Fighting champ Chuck Liddell and partner Anna Trebunskaya, who were knocked out of the competition last night.

Chuck Liddell and Anna Trebunskaya

"I had fun. We had a good time, made a run at it," the sweetly soft-spoken fighter said after the elimination. "It's hard to do, I made a shot at it."

"I had so much fun working with you. You are a gentle giant. You are my bear and you are my hippo... That's my nice words to him," added Anna.

"And you made me so proud each single week you danced."

Two weeks removed from the top of the leaderboard, Aaron Carter joined Chuck in the bottom two. They scored only 18, just one point higher than Chuck and Anna. But they lived to fight another week, while Chuck will be watching from the couch.

Dancing with the Stars Gets Hot, Hot, Hot!

Contestants were asked to perform one of four new styles this week: country two-step, lambada, bolero and Charleston.

Really, though, only one style truly stood out; as Joanna Krupa and Mya showed viewers why the lambada is known as the "forbidden dance." It didn't hurt that Krupa's partner, Derek Hough, went shirtless for the performance.

Read a full recap of who chose which routine, and how the judges reacted to it, right now.

Tom DeLay Drops Out of Dancing with the Stars, Debbie Mazar Eliminated

There were no real surprises on this week's Dancing with the Stars results show.

Debbie Mazar was the only celebrity voted off, as she and Maksim Chmerkovskiy never really found chemistry as a couple. At least this removes the awkwardness of Chmerkovskiy and ex-fiancee Karina Smirnoff on the same set.

"I definitely know a few more steps and I've had a great time," the actress said. "I've loved every moment of it."

Meanwhile, word had leaked out hours before the show that Tom DeLay would be forced to drop out due to stress fractures in his feet. The rumor became reality on air last night.

"If you can't practice, you'll make a fool out of yourself out there, and I don't want to do that to Cheryl," the Texas-born congressman said.

Sadly, Democrats - and viewers in general - will no longer have this to laugh at...

Dancing with the Stars Season Premiere Recap: Men Take the Floor

The three-night extravaganza that is the season nine premiere of Dancing with the Stars got underway last night.

Ignoring good manners, the men went before the women, as eight hopeful D-listers took to the stage and performed Latin and Ballroom routines.

To the dismay of Democrats, Tom DeLay didn't make a total fool of himself; although Cowboys fans that are distraught over the team's loss this week weren't comforted by Michael Irvin's moves. Here's a rundown of the opening evening's scores:

  • Aaron Carter & Karina Smirnoff (below): 32
  • Donny Osmond & Kym Johnson: 30
  • Mark Dacascos & Lacey Schwimmer: 29
  • Louie Vito & Chelsie Hightower: 27
  • Chuck Liddell & Anna Trebunskaya : 22

Dancing with the Stars Cast: Announced!

From a disgraced politician to an actor best known for having been married to Shannen Doherty, this season's cast of Dancing with the Stars isn't just the largest yet (16 contestants), it's also the most random.

Speaking on the new set of Q-list celebrities that will take the floor this fall on ABC, Dancing with the Stars executive producer Conrad Green said:

“When we increase the cast we find it makes the competition more interesting. It was about trying to make it as big as possible and try to get that sense of fun and excitement and real character come through on the show.”

Ashley Hamilton to Compete on Dancing with the Stars

Ashley Hamilton is the first celebrity to be named as a competitor on the upcoming season of Dancing with the Stars.

The 34-year old's father, actor George Hamilton, actually appeared on the competition in 2006.

Ashley is far less known than his well-tanned father. He's acted in a few small films and appeared on the short-lived NBC soap opera Sunset Beach. The younger Hamilton has been married to Shannen Doherty and Angie Everhart.

The cast for this fall's edition of Dancing with the Stars will be announced on Good Morning America on August 17. The new season kick offs on September 21.

Erin Andrews Campaigns for Dancing with the Stars

In a recent interview with The Sporting News, ESPN sideline reporter Erin Andrews says she's turned down a number of opportunities because they'd detract from her standing as a dedicated journalist.

But if a certain dancing competition came calling, the University of Florida graduate says she wouldn't be able to resist.

"I want to do [Dancing with the Stars], because I think I'd be good at it," Andrews said. "I love the show, and I've grown up around dancing... I think I'd be in the top, unless I fall. I'm a big faller. If you fall, that's a hard fall, which I'm sure would make the Internet very happy."

Heck, any photo of Andrews makes the Internet very happy.

Erin Andrews

Aside from a personal passion for dancing, Erin has another motivation for wanting to appear on the ABC series: the abysmal performance of fellow network personality Kenny Mayne on season two.

"I love Kenny Mayne very much, he's a friend of mine," Andrews said. "But I need to help ESPN's name on Dancing With the Stars. He did nothing for us on that show."

Dancing with the Stars Crowns Season Eight Champion

As comedian and contestant Jeffrey Ross put it - during his finalist roast on last night's Dancing with the Stars - this season came down to "the underage, the unwed and the unpronounceable."

So, who came out on top: Shawn Johnson, Melissa Rycroft or Gilles Marini?

In the end, the Olympic gymnast defeated the French actor by less than one percent. It was the closest final vote in the show's history.

Shawn Johnson and Mark Ballas

After being handed the mirror ball trophy, Johnson exclaimed:

"I've loved every second of [dancing]. This has been the best experience ever. I've grown so much."
