We're introduced to Dexter Morgan, a forensics expert in the Miami police department by day and a serial killer by night.

In the latter line of work, he focuses on slaying murderers that have not been brought to justice. He does so via a ritual killing routine. Dexter must hide double life from his sister, his girlfriend and his co-workers.

In this series premiere, the main character is fascinated by a killer that has found a way to kill girls without leaving blood behind.
