FlashForward Theory of the Week: A Baptism for Nicole

Warning: the following theory is not based on any FlashForward spoilers. It's ours and ours alone, for better or for worse...

Last night, viewers learned a couple things about the Benford's babysitter, Nicole:

  1. She got the job through her relationship with Aaron's (late?) daughter Tracy.
  2. In her future vision, she saw herself being drowned and felt as though it was a punishment of some sort.

Nicole assumes she has actually witnessed her own murder, but we disagree. Didn't the man seen "drowning" her look a lot like the priest with whom she consulted? And didn't that priest act very strangely when she asked him for assistance?

Our best guess: Nicole is in the middle of a baptism during her vision. The sin the priest is washing away? An affair with Mark Benford!

Nicole Kirby

We're very confident about the baptism theory, and we're throwing out the possibility of Nicole sleeping with Mark because the two were affectionate last night. If Olivia's flash forward comes true and she leaves Mark for Lloyd, there's no telling how he'll react.

Are we crazy or are we on to something? Leave a comment. Let us know!

FlashForward Recap: "Black Swan"

Dominic Monaghan debuted on FlashForward this week, in perhaps the coolest character introduction in TV history.

Before we saw him, though, viewers were treated to an episode that included Olivia's forced acceptance of the blackouts as valid; and Demetri's admission to Mark that he was scheduled to be murdered in March.

How did the events in "Black Swan" move things forward? Read our complete episode recap to find out!

Sonya Walger Teases More of Olivia's FlashForward, Return to Lost

She's Olivia on FlashForward.

She's Penny on Lost.

When it comes to mythology-heavy dramas, Sonya Walger is an expert. In a new interview with TV Guide, she speaks on each show, teasing fans with a possible return to the latter; and with more about her vision on the former...

On Olivia's flash forward: In the flash-forward, the bit that you have seen is that Lloyd gets up from the bed and gets a text message from someone. The person he gets a text message from is very, very unexpected.

On what's ahead for Olivia: I think it's completely fascinating that just the ghost of this might be what undoes their marriage, or it might be what strengthens them and keeps them together. It might be the tension of it alone [that] drives Mark to drink... It may well be that they get to a breaking point and then say, 'No, this isn't happening to us. We're going to make this work.'

On whether Penny should die: Are you saying in a sacrificial way, Penny needs to die? I hope not because Penny's so great. There would be mass outcry, but you know what, they killed off Charlie, so anything can happen. I feel like her dad should be the one to bite it. I am not kidding.

Lost returns to ABC in January; while FlashForward airs a new episode tonight. For more on it, as well as what else is to come this season, browse through a few show spoilers.

FlashForward Love Triangle: Coming to a Head!

Since the first episode of FlashForward, viewers have been wondering about the future of Olivia and husband Mark; versus the future of Olivia and Lloyd, the man she saw herself with in the future.

On October 29, we'll get some answers, as Lloyd knocks on the door of the married couple.

“Mark’s not pleased to see Lloyd,” Jack Davenport, who plays the latter, told TV Guide Magazine; adding that his character arrives with autistic son Dylan, who immediately recognizes the house and the Benford's daughter.

Saying Goodnight

As you might expect, "it’s a weird territory,” said Joseph Fiennes (Mark). He said:

“Lloyd and Mark can’t condemn each other at this stage for what hasn’t yet happened. Plus, you risk possibly manifesting the (infidelity) outcome as a self-fulfilling prophecy.”

FlashForward airs a new episode, "Black Swan," tomorrow night.

FlashForward Receives Full Season Pick-Up

While the show's cast remains mum on FlashForward spoilers, we can at least report that viewers will get the chance to discover a handful of this drama's secrets over the next few months.

That's because ABC has picked up the show for a full season.

Demetri and Mark

The Lost-like series has performed well on Thursday nights, increasing the network's 8 p.m. time period ratings by 32 percent over last year at this time. It was viewed by nine million people last week.

A few days ago, ABC also announced full seasons of its freshman sitcoms The Middle, Modern Family, and Cougar Town.

FlashForward Sneak Peek: "Black Swan"

This week's new episode of FlashForward is title "Black Swan."

During the hour, tension arises between Demetri and Mark, as the latter accuses his partner of allowing his fear of what he witnessed during his future vision to dominate his life.

Also: Olivia struggles with a patient's flashforward; while Nicole returns to work as the Benford's babysitter.

Check out the following clip from the upcoming installment:

John Cho Knows Nothing About FlashForward

You want FlashForward spoilers? You've come to the wrong place.

“I don’t know what happens next, none of us do,” star John Cho told TV Addict. “In fact, David [Goyer] has actually taken it one step further and my understanding is that he actually gives out misinformation to the actors.”

Sounds like Cho's vision of the future is as dark as that of his character, Demetri Noh.

Pals and Partners

The actor has shot a handful of episodes, though, and promises fans they won't be disappointed.

“What’s been impressive for me, having shot nine episodes is not just how much is being revealed but how much the writers are advancing the storyline,” said Cho. “Answers are not something we’re going to keep from fans.”

FlashForward Recap: "137 Sekunden"

On last night's episode of FlashForward, Mark and Janis flew out to Germany to meet with a former Nazi in prison who claims to know why everyone blacked out for exactly 137 sekunden, or seconds in German.

Meanwhile, back in America, Aaron was trying to get the body of his daugher exhumed, while Demetri's fiancee, Zoe, finally was able to fly again to return to him.

Find out what exactly the former Nazi told Mark and what happened to the rest of the cast in our "137 Sekunden" recap.

Now for some witty FlashForward quotes from the episode:

Aaron [to Mark]: If you're trying to prevent the future and save your marriage, the first step isn't keeping secrets from your wife and that's coming from a guy who's been divorced | permalink
Janis: There's no statue of limitations on evil | permalink
Zoe [after sleeping with Demetri]: That's the second time I blacked out this week | permalink

FlashForward Casting Calls: A Killer and a Priest

Over the next couple weeks, FlashForward will be casting for a pair of contrasting character.

For the season's sixth episode, viewers should expect a professional killer to appear. Here's how the casting call for this character reads:

[TOUGH GUY] - a fairly big guy, professional killer. 5' 10". No lines in this episodes but role will recur with lines in future.

Conversely, a priest will be featured on episode 10. This related casting note:

[PRIEST] Open Age, Open Ethnicity, Male or Female. Presides over a funeral service. Co-Star.

FlashForward Interview: Gabrielle Union on Future Vision, Character Profile

Will Demetri Noh really be killed on March 15, 2010? That's one of many questions FlashForward viewers have to contemplate over the next few months.

But Gabrielle Union - who debuts as Zoey, Demetri's fiancee, tonight - spoke to Movieline this week and made it sound as though her character's betrothed may survive after all, at least based on Zoey's vision of the future.

“I have a flashforward that’s a little different than his, as he doesn’t have one, and I’m insisting that he was in mine. But I believe that we are getting married. I think that’s what I see," Union said.

Not that the actress is really privy to any FlashForward spoilers, however. She added:

“The [producers] are Fort Knox-y. If you say something, they’ll track you down!”

Zoey and Demetri

As for her character, Union described Zoey as follows:

“She’s a really smart character who is not in-your-face or a know-it-all... She’s actually pretty balanced, normal, and highly functioning, which is rare for me to play, as she’s not completely neurotic."

FlashForward airs a new episode tonight, titled "137 Sekunden," in which Mark interviews a prisoner that claims to have unique knowledge of the blackouts.
