Flight of the Conchords: No Third Season

In quite possibly the most depressing news to deliver on a Friday, Bret and Jermaine, the creators and stars of HBO's Flight of the Conchords have announced the show will not be returning for a third season.

The critically acclaimed show ended its second season ambiguously with the duo returning to New Zealand, but fans were still holding out hope for a third season.

Unfortunately, the amazing duo announced on their website:

Bret, Jemaine and James (co-creator/director) said “we’ve noticed the less we say about the future of the show, the more people want to talk about it, so in an effort to reverse this trend we are today announcing that we won’t be returning for a 3rd season. We’re very proud of the two seasons we made and we like the way the show ended. We’d like to thank everyone who helped make the show and also everyone who watched it. While the characters Bret and Jemaine will no longer be around, the real Bret and Jemaine will continue to exist.

Flight of the Conchords Season Two Quotes

The second season of Flight of the Conchords continued directly after the first with Murray representing the Crazy Dogggz and them riding high on their success.

From there the season was full of adventures including the guys falling in love with the same woman, meeting the Prime Minister of New Zealand, and ending with the guys being deported.

Along the way the guys definitely delivered some classic Flight of the Conchords quotes and here's just some of our favorites from season two:

Flight of the Conchords Recap: "Evicted"

Last night was the season two and possibly series finale of HBO's Flight of the Conchords. The episode opens with a musical number by Bret that involves making a lot of noise and shortly after the two end up evicted.

The always brilliant Murray suggests that the band perform a musical that chronicles the band's rise to fame and much like season one's finale, the show ended on a major cliffhanger that you can read all about in our "Evicted" recap.

Flight of the Conchords Spoilers: A Duel

On the next episode of Flight of the Conchords, Bret and Jermaine are going to fall for the same girl, Brahbrah (played by SNL's Kristen Wiig).

Our boys first meet Brahbrah in the park while she's searching for her missing dog, Charlie. According to Ausiello Files, Bret and Jermaine end up literally dueling for who will win her love.

Oh and did we mention Bret is going to take up Jazzercise? Yeah, kinda wish we didn't.
