We're introduced to Gary Brooks (Jay Mohr), a recently divorced father of two.  Gary is apparently a painting contractor and the "fun parent."  His ex-wife, Allison (Paula Marshall), is the high-strung one and is now engaged to their former marriage counselor (Ed Begley Jr.).

We also get to meet the kids, Tom (Ryan Malgarini) and Louise (Kathryn Newton).  And, of course, Gary's new girlfriend, Vanessa (Jaime King), who everyone gets to walk in on him with.
