Glee Spoilers: A Scheming Sue Sylvester

While Glee won't return until November with new episodes, the short hiatus should at least give Will time to think about ways to combat a newly-inspired Sue Sylvester.

After all, for those that missed this week's installment, Sue got humiliated by her lover/co-worker and this is how she now "sees" it: her mission is to bring down the glee club!

How will she accomplish that task? Matthew Morrison tells TV Guide:

"Sue's going to give our set list to the other teams [at sectionals]. They're going to do our songs... before we do them, so it's going to make us look like we're copying them."

A Glee Feud

Caught off guard, the William McKinley singers must step up their game.

"We have to do this impromptu thing and fly by the seat of our pants," said Morrison, who wouldn't reveal anything else. We can say this, however:

Rachel will sing a version of Wicked's "Defying Gravity" when the show returns. We can't wait!

Glee Round Table: "Mash-Up"

Puck and Rachel?

A soft side to Sue?

A near-kiss between Will and Emma?

There was plenty to analyze on last night's episode of Glee, so let's get right to it in this edition of the Round Table!

More surprising of a hook-up: Puck and Rachel, or Sue and anyone?
A. Cheerio: OMG, Puck and Rachel! I'm a loyal Jew, but I still didn't see this make-out session coming. Come on, Rach. You can do so much better.

BerryTalented: I had no idea Sue had a loving bone in her body. Who knew Battleship was the way to her heart? Or to other body parts? Yech. I just grossed myself out.

FinnFan: What about Sue and Will?!? They didn't get together, but they did get along. I loved seeing those two dance together. I can't get enough of their scenes.

What was your favorite musical number from the episode?
A. Cheerio: Many great options, but I'll go with Will's version of the Thong Song.

BerryTalented: They didn't play a lot of it, but I loved Rachel's rendition of "What a Girl Wants." As my moniker might give away, I think that girl is ultra talented.

FinnFan: D'uh! Bust a Move! Just when I thought this show couldn't get any cooler, it busted out with one of my favorite songs from back in the day. I can only hope this leads to a Young M.C. comeback!

Glee Review: "Mash-Up"

Glee threw a whole lot at viewers this week, in a short period of time.

Sue was happy... and then meaner than ever.

Rachel and Puck dated... for about 20 minutes.

Finn stood up for the glee club, quit the glee club and rejoined the glee club... all within the hour.

Our only complaint about the show is that it's go-to storyline each episode is that someone might drop out of the club. We're pretty sure Rachel has left and returned more often than she's had a slushee thrown in her face.

Still, the songs, characters and one-liners always make each installment more entertaining than anything on TV. Read a detailed recap of "Mash-Up" now to see what went down this week.

A New Dork

Our favorite moments from the episode included:

  • Kurt slushee-ing himself. What a friend!
  • Will's dance to the Thong Song. Purchase any of this week's singles in our Glee music section!
  • Sue in a zoot suit. Amazing.
  • The absence of Terri Schuester (no offense, Jessalyn Gilsig).

What did you like best this week? Catch up on the top Glee quotes below:

Finn: I don't think any one decision makes your life. Unless you invent some sort of zombie virus or something. | permalink
Puck: Know what the worst part is? It's not the burning in your eyes or how the slushee drips into your underpants. It's the humiliation. | permalink
Sue: You sunk my battleship, Rod. And you sunk it hard. | permalink
Rachel: Your arms are lovely. But I just don't see us working out. | permalink

Jonathan Groff to Reunite with Lea Michele on Glee

What a week for Glee news!

First, it was announced that the show has been picked up for a full season by Fox.

Next, it was revealed that Joss Whedon will direct a future episode.

Now, we can confirm that Lea Michele is about to be reunited with her Spring Awakening co-star. Entertainment Weekly reports that Jonathan Groff will take on a recurring, upcoming role.

Appearing on at least five episodes, the Broadway star will play the lead male singer of Vocal Adrenaline, the quasi rival of New Directions. Says Glee creator Ryan Murphy:

“He is a male diva... a miva" and he'll serve as potential love interest for Michele’s Rachel.

This is Jonathan Groff. That's Lea Michele. And this scene from Spring Awakening is hot.

Groff was recently seen in the movie Taking Woodstock and has also appeared on One Life to Live.

Joss Whedon to Direct an Episode of Glee

First, the good news for Glee viewers: Fox has ordered an additional nine episode of the series, renewing it for a full season of 22.

Now, for the REALLY good news: Joss Whedon will direct one of those newly added installments!

Vitamin D Photo

The creator of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Dollhouse and Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog is a big fan of the show, as anyone with half a mind must be. Entertainment Weekly says it didn't take much for the TV guru to agree to the directing gig.

“Joss directed one of the great musical episodes in the history of television on Buffy,” said Glee creator Murphy, “so this is a great, if unexpected, fit. I’m thrilled he’ll be loaning us his fantastic groundbreaking talent.”

Glee Clip, Photos from "Mash-Up"

On Wednesday's new episode of Glee, Will busts a move.

We didn't think it could get much cooler than that, but Puck might prove us wrong in the clip below. He pays "tribute to a musical Jewish icon" by busting out an acoustic version of "Sweet Caroline." Watch and smile:

Glee Clips: Puck Flirting with Rachel, Will Busting a Move

No way Rachel will hook up with Puck, right? Right?!?

Please, tell us this is right, Fox.

On next week's new episode of Glee, there's clearly something in the air between these two characters. Said Lea Michele about the flirtation:

"Rachel's definitely got a spot in her heart for Finn, but let's just say that Finn's not the only guy Rachel gets to have fun with this season."

Watch the clip below from "Mash-Up" and you'll see to whom Michele may be referring:

The Glee Cast to Sing at the World Series

But a much bigger audience will soon be introduced to the cast, as various actors and actresses from the show will perform the national anthem prior to game 3 of the World Series later this month.
