James Tupper Cast on Grey's Anatomy as Andrew Perkins

Back in the day, when James Tupper was on Men In Trees, ABC dubbed him McTreemy in ads hyping the show, a take on Grey's Anatomy's McDreamy and McSteamy. The Anne Heche-led comedy-drama didn't really pan out, but Tupper has scored a role on Grey's!

The traumatized doctors at Seattle Grace-Mercy West are about to find a silver lining in May’s deadly hostage standoff, according to EW: Meetings with Dr. Andrew Perkins.

Tupper, who was also on Mercy, is joining Grey’s Anatomy in the recurring role of the trauma counselor there to help the staff recover from that season-ending bloodbath.

He's currently on board for at least two episodes. Grey’s Anatomy kicks off its seventh season Thursday, September 23 with an episode titled “With You I’m Born Again.”

The Grey's Anatomy Season 7 Premiere Will Be Titled ...

"With You I’m Born Again."

According to EW, that's the title of the Grey's Anatomy premiere, slated for September 23. As we know, the show's episode titles often foreshadow events and contain important meanings.

What do you think this one means? Who's born again, thanks to whom, and in what sense? What do you predict we can we expect from this episode and Season Seven as a whole?

Grey's Anatomy Snubbed By Emmy Voters

It may still pick up some extraneous nominations, but Grey's Anatomy was noticeably left off the list of 2010 Emmy Awards nominees in all five major categories.

That's right, no Outstanding Drama, Outstanding Actress, Outstanding Actor, Outstanding Supporting Actress or Outstanding Supporting Actor nods for the show.

It's hard to pinpoint the rationale for the cast's omission, particularly that of Sandra Oh and Chandra Wilson, who we're accustomed to seeing honored every year.

Certainly those two weren't any less good in Season Six. Has the show as a whole fallen out of favor with voters? Or were actresses on other shows just better?

Given that Katherine Heigl was not only nominated, but won an Outstanding Supporting Actress Emmy at the peak of the show's popularity, that must be a factor.

What do you think? Who most deserved a nomination this year - or did no one deserve it compared to the other shows, actors and actresses who were nominated?

You Call That a STRIKE?!

We don't believe the call either, Sandra.

Grey's Anatomy Casting New Trauma Counselor

The new TV season is heating up and shows are searching for people to play new roles.

Our favorite is no exception. As if it didn't have enough eye candy, Grey's has feelers out for a sexy actor to play Andrew Perkins, a forty-something trauma counselor, says TV Guide.

Any thoughts on who should play this role - or how the Perkins character will be tied in with the SGMWH surgeons we know and love? Comments and theories are welcomed below.

Grey's Anatomy Season 7 Premiere Date Revealed

The seventh season of Grey’s Anatomy is set to begin Thursday, September 23.

However, a source tells Fancast that, unlike past two-part, two-hour openers, the proudcers' plan is for Season 7 to go the traditional, hour-long premiere route this time.

The Season 6 opener had to cover George's tragic death (and Izzie nearly meeting her maker as well), and how each SGH surgeon coped with the loss of one of their own.

When Season 7 begins, the aftermath isn’t quite as immediate. As we know, a gunman terrorized the halls of the hospital, spilling a great deal of blood, but it's over now.

So what are the big questions unanswered hearing into the seventh season?

Mertina

  • How will Meredith and Derek respond to her miscarriage?
  • Where do/will things stand between Cristina and Owen?
  • Do Lexie and Mark have a chance at a second chance?
  • Is Arizona really serious about having babies now?
  • How will Jackson and April fit in as regular characters?
  • Will Richard reclaim his position as Chief of Surgery?
  • Where does Bailey’s romance with Ben stand?

Chandra Wilson to Direct Another Grey's Anatomy Episode

Grey's Anatomy star Chandra Wilson, who made her directorial debut this past season, will step behind the camera again for the upcoming season's fifth episode, according to reports.

Her first directorial effort was "Give Peace a Chance," a terrific McDreamy-centric episode early in Season 6. Her second, "Push," prominently featured Bailey and Ben (Jason George).

So what can we expect from her this time around?

It's too soon to tell, but we do know what we won't be seeing. "[Creator] Shonda Rhimes keeps threatening to do the musical episodes of Grey's Anatomy," Wilson tells TV Guide.

"And I kept saying, 'I'm just walking away!'"

Will Jason George Return to Grey's Anatomy?

Having scored a role on a new series, will Jason George, who plays Bailey's boyfriend Ben, be back next season on Grey's Anatomy? TV Guide addresses this topic today.

Jason George's role on Off the Map, Shonda Rhimes' midseason show (her third for ABC), doesn't necessarily mean Bailey's romance is over, according to Chandra Wilson.

Whatever happens, she says the relationship is important for Dr. Bailey's growth.

"How many of us go through long-term relationships that end and then you have to sit there and figure out what to do now?" the perennial Emmy Award nominee says.

"That's her journey. It was about discovery and how it changes her personality."
