Grey's Anatomy to Meet Private Practice: Crossover Event Promo!

Grey's Anatomy celebrated Valentine's Day last night, while Private Practice introduced viewers to Sam's troubled sister.

Next Thursday, though, both these Shonda Rhimes creations will come together once again, as the latest crossover event will feature Amelia arriving at Seattle Grace to beg her brother to help save Erica's life. SPOILER ALERT: Derek accepts the mission.

Grey's fans can also look forward to Cristina and Owen undergoing marriage counseling, while the residents continue to study for their boards; and Private Practice viewers should expect Scott to try and take his relationship with Violet to the next level.

Grey's Anatomy Review: A Heartbroken Hospital

Valentine’s Day came early to Seattle Grace and it wasn’t too kind, as Grey’s Anatomy returned from alternate reality with "All You Need Is Love." With this many doctors and their constant drama, it was bound to get ugly.

Many things went down, so let’s get to discussing. What couples made it through the Hallmark Holiday and who crashed and burned?

Case Time. V-Day brought out the love and the patients felt the wrath. A boyfriend died before popping the question and two 10-year olds brought the cuteness. Leave it to Grey’s to hit you with sadness one minute and make you smile the next minute.

Time to make this clear. Alex Karev is without a doubt the best peds doctor ever! When he read that letter to the peanut butter girl, my heart skipped a little bit. I know I’m not alone in that. Time to rally and let Shondaland know that this man needs a love interest and quick.

Happy Hearts. Looks like the McCouple is back in all their perfect glory and it is awesome. Case in point:

Elsewhere, Callie pulled a super sweet move by taking Arizona to the trailer. These two either get too much screen time or not enough. This issue makes you forget how enjoyable it is to watch a functioning couple sometimes.

Meanwhile, Ben knows his girl and made the perfect plans for Mandi Miranda. So cute it almost makes you hate them. Almost. Not really, of course.

Making A Move. Little Grey, it is about time! Lexie, accompanied by good luck charm Zola, made her way over to Mark’s apartment. The play date idea was genius and a talk was overdue with these two. Too bad Jackson was already there. It’s looking like the love triangle lives on. Avery needs a new girl; someone with eyes as beautiful as his so Mark and Lexie can work it out.

Best Friends Enemies. Teddy brought the heat down on Owen, letting him know exactly where he stands with her. Besides the fact that she is a new widow grieving the loss of her husband, Altman has earned the right to snap out.

There is a love/relationship with Owen. He was able to bring the human side back out of Cristina but he has now taken it out of Teddy. Granted, he hid the fact that her husband was dead so she could perform a surgery. Kim Raver gave an incredible performance when she lost Henry and she has kept that up. She is finally bringing some life to a character that needed it.

“I'm Moving Out.” Owen dropped the biggest bombshell with his plan to move out. Since Zola’s birthday party, these two have been walking on eggshells. Of course the blow out led them to this place and it is time to go their separate ways... at least for a little while. Cristina needs to get back to being her bad ass self and Owen needs to figure out what he really wants. Should these two work things out?

Small Incisions:

Richard and Adele = Heartbreaking. Only Shonda can make you have anxiety over the deterioration of a semi-regular cast member.
Best conversation goes to Webber and Lexie for their exchange about hitting the town. Hands down the best quote of the hour.
Where Do Broken Hearts Go? Found the answer for you, Whitney, and it looks like it’s the boiler room at SGH.

After an entertaining, although different, alternate reality episode, Grey’s hit the nail on the head with a solid hour of television here. While Cupid was off making moves, us viewers were left with questions.

Are Cristina and Owen splitting up? Will Lexie come clean to Mark about her feelings? With Jackson being behind on his studying, will he be the one who doesn’t make it through? Is the road about to get rough for Richard and Adele?

She succeeds in getting back on Teddy's service, but is basically blown off.

In a clip from tomorrow night's Grey's Anatomy, we see just how far Meredith and Derek have come since they were first hooking up in the car back in 2005. This Valentine's Day, they try to bring back the old magic, and while the chemistry is certainly still there ... someone else is also there. All the time.

Welcome back to TV Fanatic's Grey's Anatomy Round Table!

Our official Grey's Anatomy review broke down last week's episode, "If/Then," in detail. Now, TV Fanatic staff writers Courtney Morrison, Sean McKenna and Christina Tran have gathered for their weekly Round Table Q&A to further debate, discuss and dissect the goings on at Seattle Grace/Mercy West.

Read their answers below and weigh in with yours!

1. What was your favorite scene or quote from the episode?

Courtney: Hands down, Meredith running to Richard after finding out that Alex is a cheater. This father/daughter duo is the best. Runner-up goes to the mentioning of Izzie, George, and Burke.

Sean: Derek finding out it wasn't his baby. Not only was the moment reminiscent of when he walked in on Sloan and Addison, but it showed his willingness to fight for something.

Christina: I loved the final minutes of the episode with Meredith and Derek at Joe’s. It was a nice nod to the pilot and I couldn’t help but smile as they realized they were simply just a guy and a girl at a bar.

2. Was this episode a waste of time like last years' musical massacre?

Courtney: Definitely not. I hated the musical episode. Even though we got to see the actors show off their singing skills, I would rather watch some reality competition for that. I think this episode was a filler episode, just like that one, but it was light and enjoyable. I didn't mind watching an hour of it... I don't want to do it again, though.

Sean: It wasn't as bad as the musical episode, but all the episode really did was prove that destiny brings everything together no matter what direction or choices are made. It all works out in the end. It was certainly an interesting (and drastic for many) change for the characters.

Christina: Honestly, I enjoyed this episode MUCH more than the disastrous musical massacre. Although I’d rather watch an installment that was the real deal, I certainly didn’t think that it was a waste of time either. It was fun and definitely intriguing.

3. Who is your favorite character/situation in the alternate version of Seattle Grace?

Courtney: The same person who is my favorite in the real version... Cristina Yang. She's hardcore and gets the job done. I harbor a serious girl crush on Yang, and even those bangs couldn't stop it.

Sean: Lexie Grey because let's face it, did you ever think that she would be rocking the dreads and addicted to drugs?

Christina: I’m going with Meredith. I’ve always loved the dark and twisty version, but the bubble gum-cardigan-wearing one wasn’t so bad either. Her relationship with her mother has always been interesting to me. I also thoroughly enjoyed her interactions with Richard. Lastly, who’d a thought Meredith and Alex could ever be together? That was so weird and funny at the same time.

4. Would you rather things be the dream way or the way we have watched over the past several seasons?

Courtney: Real way, without a doubt.

Sean: I like the way things have been the past few seasons but ultimately, dream world or real world, the point was that it doesn't matter. It's all going to sync up and work out how it is supposed to.

Christina: I’m going with the real way, for sure ... because dreams end.

5. If you could keep one thing from the dream to carry into the real version of the show, what would it be?

Courtney: Miranda, I mean Mandi Bailey's hair.

Sean: Lexie's tattoos. It would bring out that bad girl in her. Hottie alert!

Christina: Alex’s glasses ... so g33ky and n3rdy, but seriously kind of cute all at the same time.

Grey's Anatomy Canadian Promo: Romance in the Air

The Canadian promo for this week's all-new Grey's Anatomy shows Bailey, Ben and others getting their Valentine's Day on. Love is certainly in the air in the February 9 installment, "All You Need is Love."

Meredith and Derek try to have a night to themselves, Callie hands babysitting over to Mark so she and Arizona can do the same, and Ben proves to Bailey that he knows her better than she thinks.

Grey's Anatomy once again blended drama with humor and heart this week, but in a way we have never before seen. In Meredith Grey Webber's dream world, a whole lot of things were different, to say the least.

As usual, last night's episode delivered a few choice songs, all timed perfectly to coincide with the significant events that gave viewers plenty to discuss ... and many of which we've heard before, appropriately!
