Still heartbroken from losing Ruby, Lavon gets behind in his Pioneer Days activites and wants to avoid asking Lemon for help. Lemon and Annabeth stage a fake break up to get Lavon to ask Annabeth to do the First Dinner. Lemon and Annabeth have a successful first dinner and Lavon admits he knew the whole time. Zoe starts turning the negatives in her life into positives by keeping all of things she would be mat about, inside. This leads to a blow out between Wade and Zoe at the First Dinner. They reconcile and realize that the arguing is for the betterment of the relationship.
