This week’s episode opened a prison riot where an inmate had a guard at gun point. The inmate killed a second guard and after trading cloths with the guard he escaped in the guard’s car.

At the airport Steve was waiting for someone at the baggage claim. An officer walked up as he picked up a bag and told him his sister Mary had been arrested for disabling a smoke detector on the plan. Steve had her released to his custody.

Steve and Mary went to the prison where the man escaped. He asked her to wait in the car while he went to see what was going on. The inmate named Dawkins had actually shot two guards; Steve figured out that the guard that Dawkins got the gun from should not have had a gun at all inside the prison.

Following the information they got from the guard, Five-O (as the team is now called) figured out that Dawkins was after a couple who won a million dollars and a trip to Hawaii. They head to the hotel where the couple was staying and found the wife shot and the husband missing.

Chin Ho looked into Dawkins background and found that he had done a bank job and then shot his partner. The partner had actually survived and was the husband that was missing. Dawkins took the husband to a bank and told him to go inside and get the money he was owed.

Five-O caught up with Dawkins at the bank, as he escaped he shot the husband in the shoulder. He attempted to get to the airport. When he saw the airport was being blocked, he detoured and took a tour helicopter hostage. The helicopter crashed in the jungle. Steve and Chin Ho having borrowed another helicopter pursued Dawkins into the jungle where he was shot and the family he had hostage saved.

Steve’s sister Mary managed to get away from the guy that was supposed to be watching her and Steve found her at their father’s grave site. Steve brought them both lunch and they had a sit down there by their father.
