Speaking of Michael, he is slowly losing control of his flock. Eight-three infected followers have been hidden away by Olivia. Meanwhile, Peter discovers Sister Anne is his new pit-mate. She tells him she was framed, and they bond over the trouble with family. Kyle questions Alan about where he was all night. They decide to go in search of Sarah, but at the lab they only find one of her boots. Alan flashes back to a bloody Sarah on a lab table and tells Kyle he thinks he knows where Sarah is. When we finally see Sarah, she's indeed covered with blood having flashes of her own. Apparently someone performed an abortion on her, probably Alan. She manages to escape and eventually runs into Alan. He and Kyle had split up after Alan informed the young doctor about Ilaria's plans and the two realized Alan may have drugged. Sarah and Alan head to the infirmary for an ultrasound only to confirm the baby is gone. Elsewhere, Kyle hides and discovers journals dating back to the 1600s; Michael's family trees. Amy enters the botany lab to confront her father. She tells him she will not bear his children, as all her sister's before had. Michael doesn't pay her much attention but informs Amy he plans to thin the herd and repopulate the abbey with her. After all, she's always been his favorite. Once Michael leaves the lab, Kyle continues his search for Sarah and comes across the pit. He helps Peter and Anne out sharing the news of a solution Michael made from the purple flowers. Sister Anne immediately realizes Michael's planning "a thinning." He plans to kill all his followers. Unfortunately, before Peter, Kyle and Anne can reach the dining hall, Michael had already set his plan in motion. He tells his flock the CDC created an antidote for the virus handing each of them a small cup of poison. Anne desperately pounds on the doors, as everyone in the hall begins to choke and die.
