The Swede convinces the Butcher to take revenge for his murdered friend, the man who had killed the prostitute.
Unfortunately, Mickey McGinnes has taken credit for the murder, and the Butcher and his German brethren plan on taking revenge on the McGinnes brothers.
Cullen Bohannon and Elam Ferguson come to their rescue, and only after Lily Bell admits to Durant what she had done, are the brothers releasesd.
Bohannon is having trouble rallying the men to listen to him, and Durant explains that he needs to get them to cross the river by building a bridge. Bohannon makes Mr. Toole the new foreman.
Eva comes to Elam and the two kiss, but she leaves hastily.
Bohannon tells the Butcher to pack his bags and leave, knowing that he would try again.
As the Butcher is packing, the McGinnes brothers show up and kill him before feeding his remains to the pigs.
