Recap

A man came into the hospital this week because he got sick while trying to recreate the Crucifixion. It's something he promised God he'd do every year if his daughter was spared from cancer.

As part of his sacrifice, the patient refused treatment. That is, until House lied and said the daughter actually still had cancer, so God let the guy down, so he could do whatever he wanted! The man got angry at House for being such a bastard, but the lie worked and his life was saved.

Lying was the key issue of the episode. That's because Cuddy was still angry at House for his lie from a couple weeks ago. House set out to prove his motto ("everybody lies") and catch Cuddy in a fib so they'd be even. This eventually worked, as Cuddy lied about a six-day marriage in 1987, but she was hurt he used this information as part of a game. In the end, House did apologize and said trust was a matter of faith... but later admitted to Wilson that the speech was a lie.

Elsewhere:

- Sam dumped Wilson soon after he proposed because he didn't believe her story about how she treated patients in a few studies.

- Taub's wife admitted she made an online friend in a support group for those with cheating spouses. It wasn't an affair, she'd never met him - but she also wouldn't stop opening up to him because it made her feel better.

House Season 7 Episode 8 Quotes

Ramon: Faith is not a disease.
House: No, of course not. On the other hand, it is communicable, and it kills a lot of people.

Marisa: You don't believe in God?
House: I did. Then I grew my curly hairs.
