House Review: "Brave Heart"

While Fox promised one of the strangest cases in House history this week, we're pretty much numb to any professional surprises on the show at this point.

But the pair of personal storylines that lingered last night were intriguing.

First, Jesse Spencer is going an outstanding job with Chase's Dibala dilemma. We do hope his character reveals the secret to Cameron on the next episode, however, as he's clearly so far over the line that it's not realistic for it to remain kept from her.

It's also interesting to see how this will lead to Jennifer Morrison's exit from the series. Will she simply leave her husband when she learns what he did?

Read a full recap of events from "Brave Heart" now.

With a Patient

As for House, we could watch him interact with Wilson for hours.

For the first time in years, the character is clearly evolving, as he may still be snarky and even mean at times - but he's not miserable. That much is certain, and it's a pleasure to watch Hugh Laurie find a new take on the man he's played for so long.

Check out a few of our favorite House quotes from the episode below:

Cuddy: This is the part where you play the employee and I play the boss.
House: I can see your nipples. Your turn. | permalink
House: Differential diagnosis for resurrection. Go! | permalink
Foreman: You can't perform an autopsy without a medical license.
House: Really? Because I don't think there's anything we could screw up that we haven't already screwed up. | permalink
Chase: I've crossed some line and I'm having trouble getting back to the other side. | permalink

Sasha Alexander to Guest Star on House

They might be the best couple on TV, but someone will get between House and Wilson on a future episode of House.

Sasha Alexander - best known for playing Agent Todd on 48 episodes of NCIS from 2003-2005 - will appear on one installment of the Fox hit later this season.

Sasha Alexander

According to Entertainment Weekly, the actress will guest star as the neighbor of this adorable twosome when they move into new digs. Both characters will crush on the beauty, but don't worry, fans.

Nothing can do long-term damage to our favorite television bromance.

House Preview: "Brave Heart"

While the Chase/euthanasia angle continues next week on House, the team deals with a new patient.

This one is convinced he's suffering from the same ailment that killed both his dad and his grandfather. We have a feeling House will be confused about the solution until a closing-scene revelation.

Lisa Edelstein Mourns the Loss of Jennifer Morrison

Jennifer Morrison is not dead.

But her character of Allison Cameron will soon be exiting House. In an interview with E! News, co-star Lisa Edelstein shared her feelings on this shocking news:

"Jennifer is an incredibly gracious, professional, sweet, lovely woman and I hadn't the faintest idea until I said something really dumb on set because I didn't know. But I can't really tell you what I said, because it has to do with a storyline that hasn't come out yet. But essentially [it was] 'How come your character keeps leaving and coming back?' as a joke. I had no idea.

I was the last person to know. That's because she was just so incredibly professional and did her job and never let on to anyone what was going on. It was pretty impressive. She will be missed, I don't think she's going to have any trouble, so I'm not worried about her."

The seeds for Cameron's departure were sown last night, as Cameron, Chase and the team dealt with a controversial patient, played by James Earl Jones.

House Recap: "The Tyrant"

What an intense episode of House.

James Earl Jones guest-starred this week and the developments around his character (an abusive African dictator) are rumored to lead to the eventual exit of Jennifer Morrison as Cameron.

Last night, though, she was very much present, as Cameron and Chase struggled with how to treat Jones' character. Read all about it in our recap of "The Tyrant."

House Recap: "Epic Fail"

House the chef? Entertaining for a few moments, but nothing compared to House the doctor.

Our favorite diagnostic expert tried his hand at other hobbies this week, in order to remain clean and happy, but only one thing distracted him from the pain in his leg: medicine.

Does this mean he'll return to his team full-time in the future? And is there even a team left to return to? These answer and more lie ahead with our recap of "Epic Fail."

Back to Normal

There were some classic House quotes on the episode. Among our favorites:

Wilson: Is that my laundry?
House: You were running out of socks for me to borrow. | permalink
Thirteen: This might be the best thing I've ever eaten... and yes, I'm including what you're thinking about now. | permalink
Foreman: I feel like Tom Brady's back-up.
Thirteen: Tom Brady's back-up now makes $10 million. | permalink
House: I quit.
Foreman: You can't quit.
House: I think you're confusing me with Jake Gyllenhaal. | permalink

Why is Cameron Leaving House?

Jennifer Morrison is NOT leaving House for good.

That's the message producer Katie Jacobs conveyed to TV Guide Magazine, as she provided background to the startling news that the actress' character, Cameron, will be exiting the Fox drama in November.

“There is a story coming that has a major consequence for Cameron and a direct impact on her role on House’s team and on her marriage [to Dr. Chase, played by Jesse Spencer],” said Jacobs.

Allison Cameron Picture

The producer, who also directed the season six premiere, said this plot begins after an African dictator, played by James Earl Jones, receives a controversial treatment at Princeton-Plainsboro in the October 5 episode.

“Cameron’s reaction [to the situation] is that she needs to separate from her husband and marriage and proximity from the hospital,” Jacobs said, only confirming that the character is taking a leave of absence. “If I wanted to make an announcement that Jennifer was leaving the show, I would say that. The fact is, we still don’t know how the season is going to end for Cameron or for Jennifer.”

In real life, Morrison actually dated Jesse Spencer (Chase) for awhile. They are now broken up, but Jacobs insists there is no behind the scenes drama of any kind.

"This is all driven by the storytelling, and the story tells us Cameron needs to take a break from the hospital.”

Major House Casting News: Jennifer Morrison Out as Cameron!

Throughout the summer, numerous House spoilers emphasized how this would the season of Chase and Cameron. The newly-married couple would be re-joining the team and placed back into the heart of episodes.

Just last month, series creator David Shore said: “Chase and Cameron fans will be happy with the way we’re going to reintegrate them into the team — at least on a temporary basis.”

He wasn't kidding about the last part. As first reported by Entertainment Weekly, Jennifer Morrison will be leaving House in November!

Dr. Allison Cameron

Sources confirm that this is a creative decision; the actress did not quit. While recent spoilers hinted at a fight between Cameron and Chase, there was nothing to indicate that Morrison's character would actually exit the show.

We'll follow up this story with any news that breaks. All we can report for now is that Cameron will not be killed off, and Chase will remain on the series.

Will you be sad to see Morrison go?
