The gang heads to St. Cloud, Minnesota for the funeral of Marshall’s dad.

Robin gains quite a reputation as Vice Girl thanks to her purse of goodies she brought. Ted and Barney try their best to lighten the mood by showing Marshall Internet clips of people getting hit in the nuts, but fail to bring a smile to their forlorn friend’s face.

In the end, a final message from a pocket dial brings Marshall peace and he is able to say goodbye to his father. The rest of the cast, moved by the moment, take time to call their respective fathers, but Barney’s call to his mother is the most poignant as he announces he is ready to meet his dad.
