Lily and Marshall run into an odd acquaintance from their past when the head back to college with Ted who wants to confront his old professor. Barney comes along for the ride, but is unable to speak after Marshall jinxed him. Robin stays behind to handle year end reviews and struggles with Patrice's future. Barney is freed from his silence and tells Ted of his plan to propose to Patrice.
