Starting tonight, a couple of fresh faces will appear on Lie to Me.

Jennifer Beals (The L Word) shows up as Cal Lightman's ex-wife, while former ER star and Mekhi Phifer joins the series as a regular on May 6.

Monica Raymund, who plays Ria Torres on the series, spoke to TV Guide about each of these stars.

On Jennifer Beals' character: Her character is definitely a well-to-do, successful and independent woman. She doesn't need Cal's approval or judgment on anything, she's her own woman.

On Mekhi Phifer: He's awesome. Such a great actor, a great man and lot of fun to work with. I was a big fan of his when I met him, so I was a little star-struck. I was like, "What was it like working with Eminem [in 8 Mile]?"

Mekhi Phifer isn't just joining Lie to Me for a few episodes, beginning May 6.

The actor has confirmed to E! Online that his character of Ben Reynolds will be sticking around for the foreseeable future.

"I'm going to be a series regular," Phifer said earlier this week. "I'm one of the leads on the show. I'm on my second episode right now. I'm an FBI agent, so I get to kick ass and take names and shoot people. I'm having a great time."

The former ER doctor also teased Lie to Me's season finale: "Expect a lot of explosions and deaths."

Mekhi Phifer is coming aboard Lie to Me.

The former ER star has signed on for a multiple-episode arc, appearing as an FBI agent that assists Cal Lightman on the case of a serial rapist.

Phifer begins his guest-starring stint on May 6. Here's a look at him in the role of Ben Reynolds from that date's episode, "Blinded."

A pair of exciting guest stars have signed on for the second-to-last episode of Lie to Me this season:

Look for Daniel Sunjata (pictured, Rescue Me) and Clea Duvall (Carnivale) to appear on the installment that features Lightman going off on an extremely unorthodox, undercover mission.

Mekhi Phifer will soon debut on Lie to Me.

The former ER star chatted with E! Online about her role on the Fox series.

"There's a serial rapist who also blinds his victims, and they assign me to this case and assign the Lightman Group - we're forced to work together. We have our own methods of reaching a goal, and so we're kind of at odds a little bit, but I think at the end of this episode we sort of have a mutual respect for how the other works," the actor said. "I get physical, but as you can see, I stay pretty. I don't get my ass whopped. I'm whopping ass!"

Might Phifer might be around longer than the two previously-announced episode?

"Possibly. Possibly for the duration of the show."

With ER going off the air for good tonight, one of its former cast members has landed a new gig.

Mekhi Phifer, who played Dr. Gregory Pratt on the NBC drama for six years, has booked a multiple-episode arc on Lie to Me.

Look for Phifer in the role of Ben Reynolds, an FBI agent that partners with Dr. Cal Lightman (Tim Roth) to track a serial rapist in the D.C. area.

Reynolds will serve as The Lightman Group's government liaison on the investigation. When he comes aboard - on May 6 - the character will have spent the previous six months pursuing the criminal.

Jennifer Beals, most recently seen on The L Word, has landed a recurring role on Lie to Me.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the actress has booked a multi-episode arc on the Fox drama. She'll star as the ex-wife of Tim Roth's character, Dr. Cal Lightman.

Beals will appear on the series as Zoe Landau, an assistant U.S. attorney.

She hires her ex-husband to assist with an arson case, as it immediately becomes evident that the former spouses still have unresolved feelings for one another.

Kelli Williams stars on Lie to Me as Dr. Gillian Foster.

With the show moving to 8 p.m. on Wednesdays starting tonight, the actress spoke to TV Guide about the big change.

TVGuide.com: As nice as it was to have the Idol lead-in, are you now nervous about having to kick off the night at 8 o'clock?
Kelli Williams: There's always a little concern when they start moving your show around, but it's good that we're at least on the same night. But yeah, I have one little concern. We were worried that maybe we'd lose some of the more adult themes, but so far so good

TVGuide.com: Tonight's episode packs quite the emotional wallop, with the case of a missing girl.
Williams: I know. It was quite something for my character, Foster, to deal with.... it puts Foster through quite a bit emotionally.

TVGuide.com: And that in turn gives us a bit more information on the perhaps-shaky status of her marriage.
Williams: It's interesting how that has been leaked out bit by bit. The part I like is that it isn't necessarily what you think it is. That will reveal more of itself in the next few episodes.

Lie to Me moves from 9 p.m. to 8 p.m. tomorrow night.

And, accrording to Kristin from E! Online, the series plans to celebrate the timeslot switch with a first-rate episode:

In "Do No Harm," viewers will learn more about Gillian's past, as the character reveals a major life story to a client. Also, Eli abandons up his radically honest persona for a girl... who isn't Torres!

Brendan Hines stars as Eli Loker on the new Fox drama Lie to Me.

The actor, who has appeared on Without a Trace and Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, recently spoke to TV Addict about his new gig.

What can he tell viewers about Eli? Take it away, Brendan...

Eli is the lead researcher at the Lightman Group. He conducts voice stress tests in order to see where the spikes are, indicating possible deception as well as analyzes video to uncover micro expressions. Lightman (Tim Roth) also likes having Eli around because he refuses to lie.

He has taken this pledge to be radically honest. Which not only means being honest when you’re asked something, but saying everything that’s on your mind as well.
