In the aftermath of Saskia's attack on Dyson, he reveals that she is in fact, Aife, Bo's mother. Bo is furious that Dyson kept the secret from her. She finds out more of the story from Trick. He was responsible for Aife's imprisonment after the war between the Light and Dark Fae was ended.

Trick asks Bo to run and hide from Aife and protect herself, but Bo refuses. She instead intends to track down her mother, but upon returning home finds Aife making cookies in her kitchen. Bo eats one, is drugged, and Aife takes her. Bo awakens at Aife's house. Aife wants Bo to partner with her to bring down the Light and Dark Fae, but Bo refuses. Even though Bo doesn't believe Fae should have to choose a side, she doesn't support Aife's plans to start a war.

Aife sends a suicide bomber to kill the Light Fae council. The Ash is in grave condition.

Bo decides to stop her mother, but won't accept any help. Unbeknownst to her, Dyson intends to give up his "wolf" in order to give her power to succeed. Instead of his "wolf" as payment, the Fae takes his love for Bo. At the same time, Trick decides to give up his self-imposed ban on using is Blood King power and writes something in his blood regarding Aife.

Bo is safe with Kenzi, though unsure if Aife is alive or dead.
