Boone to Appear on "Several Episodes" of Lost, Ian Somerhalder Confirms

Ian Somerhalder is a busy actor.

Well into the filming for the first season of The Vampire Diaries, the actor took a break this week to fly to Hawaii and reprise his role as Boone on Lost.

Asked about his character's future on the ABC hit, Somerhalder told Entertainment Weekly:

“The only thing I can say is that I’m going back for several episodes... I have a script that weighs like 200 pounds, but I don’t really know what’s happening.”

The actor added that he was excited to play a part on Lost's final season, but the schedule is far from relaxing.

"I wrapped [an episode of The Vampire Diaries] last night, I’ll fly there, I’ll work tomorrow, and then I’ll fly straight back and then come straight back to work on The Vampire Diaries. So it’s a 10-hour flight each way, and I’ll be on the ground for 24 hours... But I wouldn’t complain if you paid me.”

Katey Sagal and Julie Bowen: Booked for Hawaii!

Ian Somerhalder, who stars as Damon Salvatore on The Vampire Diaries, has already spent time in Hawaii this week, filming scenes for season six of Lost.

But it looks like Somerhalder isn't the only actor with a new gig that is reprising a role on the final season of the ABC hit.

According to TV Guide Magazine, both Katey Sagal (pictured) and Julie Bowen will appear in an at least one future episode. The former portrayed John Locke's girlfriend, Helen, and is now starring on Sons of Anarchy.

Helen

Bowen - who is set to appear on ABC's Modern Family - already has thoughts on how her character of Jack's ex-wife might fit into Lost. She said:

"The last time you saw Sarah, she was pregnant with another man's child. But I would pitch that it was actually Jack's baby and Jack's found out and it's somehow important to whatever is happening on the island."

Not a bad theory. Viewers won't find out for sure until early 2010.

Revealed: The Poster for Lost Season Six

ABC has released the official poster for the sixth - and, sniff, sniff, final - season of Lost.

As you might expect, no major Lost spoilers are revealed on it, but it's worth noting two things:

  1. None of the character photos are new; they appear to be collection of cut-and-pasted promo pics. But John Locke (in the middle) has his back turned, a notable difference from the other stars.
  2. There are hieroglyphics within the letters of the show. Anyone out there major in Egyptian or ancient language?

Take a look for yourself and see if you can come to any revealing conclusions:

Lost: Casting for Teenage Boy

Another week, another piece of Lost casting news.

According to a network casting notice, the ABC hit is seeking a Caucasian actor between the age of 12 and 14 to portray…

Teenage Boy: Sporting dirty blond hair and intense searching eyes, he’s wise beyond his years. He finds himself having to deal with a horrible family accident. Recurring.

Is there any doubt that this character will be a younger version of Sawyer?

Jim LaFleur

Will Lost fans meet a teenage Sawyer on season six?

Harold Perrineau: Unlikely to Return to Lost

Numerous characters are coming back to Lost for the show's final season.

Expect to see Claire, Boone, Charlie and Shannon either on or off the island at some point next year.

But we doubt the same can be said for Harold Perrineau, even though the actor would gladly come back to the series... again. (Remember: Michael left the island and then returned to try and save his friends, only to be blown up on a freighter.)

Michael, Lost

“Nobody’s said anything to me and I haven’t asked,” Perrineau told TV Guide Magazine. “One of the great things I always thought about Lost is I back up and I let them do the thing that they’re really great at doing. They’re really great and creating drama and creating their show. And this way I don’t have to ask ‘Hey, what’s this? What’s that?’ I don’t ask any questions, I just show up and I let them do what they do. They’re good at it.”

That being said, we can't imagine the show asks the actor to reprise the role of Michael once more. He's already gone out in a heroic, fiery blaze.

But if his phone did ring?

“Of course I would show up! Are you kidding me? That’s my people!”

Lost: Casting for A New Character

Typically mum about its casting and its spoilers, Lost has revealed a surprising amount of information this off-season.

Over the last couple weeks, the ABC drama has announced the casting of John Hawkes and Hiroyuki Shimosawa; it's unclear how these actors - or their roles, to be specific - fit into Lost lore, but we can't wait to find out!

Now, we can report that the series is casting for yet another new character. His name will be Paul and he'll appear in the second and third episodes of season six. The Lost casting notice reads:

An overworked, harried male age 30-60 who finds himself in a highly adrenalized situation that forces him to remain calm and tests his ability to keep his wits about him — a test he fails miserably.

Got any thoughts on how Paul may fit into the show's mythology?

Josh Holloway Forecasts the Death of Sawyer

It's important to note that these are not Lost spoilers.

Fans are likely to get quite riled up, especially when they read the final quote below, but keep in mind: these are just the thoughts of Josh Holloway.

When asked by E! News how his character will react to the apparent death of Juliet, Holloway put it simply: not well.

"Now that he's lost Juliet, I think the leader-hero thing is gone. I think he doesn't give a s--t to be anyone's leader at this point. He's heartbroken. He's back to 'The world sucks' and maybe throughout this season someone can redeem him again and bring him back from hell, because right now, he's in hell."

Juliet and Sawyer Photo

Even if Sawyer is redeemed, Holloway doesn't see his time on the island ending well.

"Knowing Damon Lindelof, Sawyer must die. Maybe Carlton Cuse will soften. I always thought he should die. I think he should die because him and society is never going to work, so why go back?"

An interesting opinion. Do you share it?

Hiroyuki Shimosawa to Play Significant Role on Lost

As much as it pains Lost fans to wait until January for the show's final season to air, at least a couple casting tidbits this week have created new buzz and speculation across the Web.

First, John Hawkes was announced for the role of Lennon. This character will work as the spokesman for a foreign corporation... whatever that means.

But it's more than we know about the character to be played by Hiroyuki Shimosawa.

Hiroyuki Shimosawa

According to Entertainment Weekly, the Japanese star - who appeared in The Last Samurai and Speed Racer — will take on a “significant recurring” role, according to show insiders.

What does that translate into? Your guess is as good as ours, but we'll take any Lost scoop we can get!

John Hawkes Cast in Key New Role on Lost

Only Lost could introduce a new character on its fifth season finale - the individual dubbed "The Man in Black" - and pull it off in a logical, mysterious, intriguing manner that is has fans buzzing for months.

Similarly, only Lost could send out a casting notice for another new character and instantly have viewers racking their brains for what role he could play in the series.

We still don't know just how Lennon fits into the mythology, but we do know the actor that will take on this part: John Hawkes.

John Hawkes

Hawkes, who starred for years on Deadwood and has appeared on CSI and Without a Trace, will portray “the spokesperson/translator for the president of a foreign corporation,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Lennon is also a “wily negotiator [who's] far more powerful than his lowly position would seem to indicate.”

Lost will return for its sixth and final season in January 2010.

Lost Casting for... Lennon?!?

While true Lost spoilers are still difficult to come by, show producers have released a casting notice that sheds a surprising amount of light on a new character.

For season six, the show is seeking an actor in his mid 30s to late 50s to play someone named "Lennon." Here's how he's described:

Scruffy, edgy, charismatic, and slightly stir-crazy, Lennon can be deferential when it’s called for. He’s the spokesperson/translator for the president of a foreign corporation. He’s a wily negotiator, and far more powerful than his lowly position would seem to indicate. Recurring.

A foreign corporation? Could that be the Hanso Foundation? Send in your theories as to how this new character fits into the Lost puzzle.
