Ian Somerhalder Considers Crossing Over From The Vampire Diaries to Lost

Many Lost spoilers over the last few weeks have hinted at the return of various characters to the show.

Among them? Boone, played for the first season of the show by Ian Somerhalder. The actor is set to star on The Vampire Diaries, however, so there's no way he could ever head back to ABC's mysterious island, right?

Wrong.

“I’ve heard a little bit about what’s happening this season on Lost, and there’s definitely an avenue they’re going down to bring back a lot of us," Somerhalder told TV Guide Magazine. "Any crossover [with] Lost would only help the success of our show... as long as it’s not screwing up production."

Michael Emerson Forecasts Major Character Deaths on Lost

Most of the Lost news and Lost spoilers that have been publicized this summer have been focused on the possible return of characters such as Charlie and Shannon.

But what about those that are destined to perish on the island?

While not claiming to have any first-hand knowledge of upcoming scripts, Michael Emerson told Entertainment Weekly that he doesn't see the show ending on the happiest of notes.

"I don't think Lost will have a happy ending," the actor said. "It's the end and I think we are going to start seeing more casualties. I would put money on major characters being killed. I believe it will be a sad ending to the show - or at least bittersweet. I think it will definitely be a series finale for grownups."

In other words: sorry, prognosticators, but Lost will not end with the reveal that this is all a reality show and those remaining on the island have won a million dollars. Darn.

Michael Emerson: No Time to Mourn Juliet

While Ben Linus is known and remembered for many things on Lost, one fact about him is often overlooked:

In the love triangle that sprung up around Jack, Sawyer and Juliet, it's easy to forget that Ben once crushed hard on this fellow Other.

So, in the wake of her apparent death, how will the ultimate manipulator react?

"Ben's no longer in a position to entertain romantic notions," Emerson told E! News when asked that question. "I don't think there's room for romance in Ben's world right now. As much as he admires her on a lot of levels, I don't think he can do anything about it."

That's all the actor could offer. After all, he recently admitted that the cast doesn't have knowledge of any actual Lost spoilers.

Maggie Grace: Bound for Hawaii, Lost?

We expected Emilie de Ravin to return as Claire for the final season of Lost.

And Dominic Monaghan reprising the role of Charlie isn't shocking.

However, the revival of Shannon is an unexpected twist, yet it's one actress Maggie Grace has been teasing over the last few weeks.

Maggie Grace

When asked about returning to the ABC hit, Grace told E! News:

"I'm looking forward to visiting Hawaii soon. I don't know why..."

So, does this mean Shannon is really coming back? The actress wouldn't actually say, of course, merely offering:

"I think that they are brilliant writers. If they found the right reason, then I'm sure I would be on."

As for her on-screen brother, don't get too excited about Ian Somerhalder joining Grace in Hawaii: he's busy shooting The Vampire Diaries.

Michael Emerson: Mum on Lost Spoilers

You want Lost spoilers? Don't ask Michael Emerson for them!

“I know exactly as much as you do at this point,” the actor, who plays Benjamin Linus, told Access Hollywood last week. “Honestly, and I won’t know another thing about it until two days before the cameras roll and they give me a script. And I’m sure it will make my hair stand on ends when I see it.”

John Locke, Ben Linus

Okay. But what about the conclusion of season five? As Ben went being the ultimate manipulator to actually being taken advantage of by the phony John Locke?

It was a change Emerson didn't see coming.

“It was kind of cool and it crept up on me. Suddenly, I found that I was a sad little follower, powerless and without resources. It was unusual. But you have to think, with Benjamin, the wheels are turning nonetheless and he is looking for a break. And the breaks will come to he who waits.”

Lost Season Six Spoilers: Sort of Revealed!

At the 49th Annual Monte Carlo Television Festival, Matthew Fox opened up about season six of Lost.

The man that plays Jack Shepherd didn't reveal any major secrets to E! News, but he did make it clear that viewers won't be disappointed.

Here are a few excerpts from his interview:

On the series finale: [It will] incredibly powerful, very sad and beautiful... I think is going to be pretty awesome.

On the Smoke Monster: I think it is going to be very satisfying and cathartic and redemptive and beautiful. I've talked to Damon pretty extensively and every time I talk to him it's sort of surprising how moving it is just to talk about it.

Janitor Jack

The sixth season will kick off with an examination of what happened after Juliet apparently detonated the hydrogen bomb: "It's very surprising and probably fairly confusing initially to the audience," Fox said.

Confusion on Lost? Now we've heard everything!

In closing, Fox explained the linear progression of the show's final season:

"Like a third of the way in [to the season] I would guess we are going to [settle] in one time frame and it will be very linear - no more flashbacks, nothing. It will be on the island and sort of a final conflict to the end."

The Latest on Lost Characters: Welcome Back, Charlie and Shannon?

We don't exactly embrace Twitter as a source for television news, but this potential Lost spoiler is too juicy to ignore.

E! News has called attention to a Tweet by someone named Josh Cohen that reads:

"Lost Scoop: Charlie (Dominic Monaghan) returns for 4 episodes, Clarie (Emily De Ravin [sic]) for full-season, Shannon (Maggie Grace) for 6 episodes!"

It's worth emphasising, as we don't wish to lose credibility, that we cannot verify this source in any way. We can report that insider close to the show have said: "No deals have been made yet."

Lost Tweet

As for Charlie Pace, Dominic Monaghan is rumored to have landed a role on Flash Forward. His rep won't let the Lost return rumors die, however: "He might or might not be back on Lost... You'll just have to stay tuned."

We will, trust us.

In the meantime, how could Charlie and/or Shannon come back? Many theorize that the explosion of the pre-built Hatch in the season finale will reset the series timeline. If that's the case, these character deaths never would have taken place and maybe everyone will be seen in their pre-island lives and...

... our heads hurt. January 2010 can't come fast enough.

Dominic Monaghan to Join Grey's Anatomy Cast?

Here's some interesting TV scoop: Former Lost star Dominic Monaghan is apparently NOT being resurrected on the convoluted desert island drama next season, despite an ABC promo showing him mingling with stars of the network's other big-name series.

So why is he in the promo at all?

Well, sources say Monaghan is joining another ABC series - an hour-long series - as a full-time cast member this fall, and the network wants to keep that under wraps.

Why would they want to keep the addition of a popular actor like Monaghan (Lost, Lord of the Rings, X-Men Origins: Wolverine) a secret instead of hyping it to no end?

One theory, off the wall as it may be, is that he is taking over the role of George O'Malley - or at least filling his hospital spot in some capacity - on Grey's Anatomy.

That would at least make sense in that the mystery of whether O'Malley lives, dies or awakes with a new face after extensive plastic surgery was left up in the air.

What do you think? Would Monaghan be a good addition to Grey's Anatomy - as George or anyone else - or is he headed for a different ABC show come September?

Emilie de Ravin to Return to Lost as Series Regular

While it's no surprise that Emilie de Ravin will be reprising her role as Claire on season six on Lost, Ausiello did just break the news that de Ravin will be a series regular during the sixth and final season!

Series creator, Carlton Cuse says "Damon and I are very excited to bring Claire back to the show and even more excited for people to experience just how she will return."

Claire from Lost

Ooh, so just how will she return?  EW's resident Lost expert, Doc Jensen guesses:

"Any scenario that brings Claire back to Lost must address the mysterious circumstances of her disappearance at the end of season 4, in which many of us were led to believe that she was as dead -- or rather, undead -- as the Ghost Christian that's been haunting The Island since season 1. So here's one thought: Juliet changed time in the season finale by detonating Jughead, and season 6 will tell the story of the new timeline, one in which Claire is alive."

Jensen continues with another theory:

"In light of the revelation that John Locke was actually a supernatural impostor for half of season 5, perhaps in season 6, we'll get a storyline in which Claire just emerges out of the jungle, with no memory of what happened to her -- just like season 1 -- and we and the castaways will be left to wonder: Is this the real Claire or another impostor infiltrating them a la Locke? Heck, maybe that's going to be the major idea of next season: Who's really alive and who's really (un)dead? It really will be the fabled zombie season of Lost."

Lost Spoilers: Elizabeth Mitchell's Status

With Elizabeth Mitchell signed on to star in V, the fate of Micthell's future on Lost is certainly in question.  It definitely doesn't help that her character, Juliet, appears to have died on the season five finale.

Now, according to Entertainment Weekly's Ausiello Files, we shouldn't expect to season Mitchell appear in more than two episodes of Lost's final season.

If it helps you get over the loss, you can watch this first look at V. It actually looks pretty good!
