Recap

On stage, Louie admits he’s been having some trouble sleeping. We find out that he’s still got Liz, the book store clerk, on his brain. So, he pays the store a visit only to find out from her equally quirky replacement that she quit. Upon some very insistent urging from the replacement, she and Louie go to Liz’s apartment so Louie can reconnect.

The attempt fails when the doorman refuses to let Liz’s replacement in so she and Louie head to a nearby café. There, the replacement gets even more worked up until eventually reaching orgasm. She reveals she’s married, tells Louie to not visit her at the store then leaves.

At school, Louie sees Lilly getting bullied and storms over to break it up. He asks what’s bothering her but she refuses to answer. He tries to cheer her up to no avail. Back at Louie’s apartment, everyone goes their separate ways.

Louie Season 3 Episode 9 Quotes

I've been having a lot of trouble sleeping as we all should. I dunno. You don't live that long. It doesn't matter. I mean, life isn't that long. Eighty some odd years. Buy some shit. Use it. It breaks. Try to fuck somebody. Hope your shits don't hurt too bad. I'm 44 now - you start doing that math. And it's happy math now. Like, when you're in your 20s, you're like, 'how long will my life seem? I hope it's a nice long story and I hope like I feel I didn't die too soon. You get to your forties and you're like, 'I'm almost there, man. Alright! Yeah!

Louie

You can't just drift through life and hope that love is going to float into you like plankton into a whale's f*cking mouth.
