On Masters of Sex, Season 3 Episode 7, Bill and Virginia work with a gorilla who's having trouble mating. They discover that the gorilla's old handler, a woman, use to "encourage" him when trying to get him to mate. The gorilla only responds after Bill urges Virginia to expose her breasts to the animal. Virginia tells Daniel about the deeply uncomfortable situation. In an interview with Newsweek, Bill talks about their case with the gorilla without going into the specifics. Helen and Betty want to have a baby. They can't adopt together, so Betty brings Helen to the office for an insemination. Instead of going through with that process, Betty brings Helen to meet Austin, whom they ask for help. Libby and Paul have a confrontation. He tells her to keep the apartment, and that he feels his marriage was a lie. Daniel meets Tessa not knowing she is Virginia's daughter. Tessa tells him not to get involved with Virginia since she's clearly involved with Bill. Jane volunteers to help her friend from theatre who's impotent. Lester isn't happy that Jane is taking part in the work again.
