When you watch Masters of Sex Season 4 Episode 1, you'll see Virgina and Bill separated both as lovers and as colleagues. Bill returns to work while he's also dealing with Libby wanting a divorce, his legal troubles, and being required to attend AA after a car accident. Virginina seems to have married Dan, but he is nowhere to be found. She meets with Hugh Hefner about a column for Playboy. Hugh brings Bill in and says he will work with them if they remain Masters and Johnson. Bill and Virginia agree to keep things professional.
