Dwight and Whitehead scramble to track down a corpse, and learn something troubling about the late man's past.
The death of a local basketball hero had Dwight and Whitehead on the hunt for his body when it goes missing at his funeral. It turns out that his body contained the key to a locker where drug-filled sneakers were being held. Brad was trying to enrich the life of underprivileged children in the Memphis projects in any way he could, including financially, the means of which weren’t entirely legal.
Paula Ann attempts to put together the annual benevolence fundraiser, assigning tasks to the members of the MPD. When met with opposition from her own son, Davy, set on a higher profile position than ticket sales, strikes a deal with Paula Ann to get Dwight to sing.
The episode ends with Dwight on-stage at the benefit singing a cover of “I’ll Take You There.”
