Recap

The three storylines didn't intersect this week, but each was funny on its own.

First, Alex earned the second-highest score in her class on a test. She was upset because a boy named Sanjay beat her out again, but she was also resigned to her fate: after all, his parents have impressive jobs. Her parents... don't.

It takes awhile for Claire and Phil to realize they've been insulted, but Claire starts to worry Alex is right. What does she do about it? She tries to educate herself by seeing some French movie at the theater, as opposed to the 3D crap her and Phil had planned to see. Of course, she then falls asleep during the film and worries about the affect she'll have on her daughter.

But Claire and Phil feel better about themselves when they seen Sanjay's dad in the theater lobby, struggling with how to validate his parking pass.

Second, Jay isn't happy that a couple he and Gloria befriended on vacation have tracked them down and asked them to dinner. He even tells the couple this, only to discover they've been invited to stay over. How does Gloria rectify her husband's attitude? By later telling the pair Jay is actually going senile. This helps them understand, they stay the night, and through a series of misunderstandings, it even appears the next day as if Jay really is senile.

Third, Mitchell and Cam run into the former's ex. She's a woman! He even slept with her at their 10-year high school reunion and he fears she has had his child because he sees her kiss a short redhead from a distance.

But after deciding he wants to be a part of his son's life, Mitchell runs into an awkward situation: his ex has simply married a small person.

It's an obsessive-compulsive thing. I have read like a hundred articles about it.
