-Jess, still attempting to move on from her kiss with Nick, begins a flirtation with pro football player Jax McTavish (Shameless's Steve Howey). But Jax quickly reveals himself to not quite be the macho man that she is looking for.
-Nick and Schmidt plan a party to celebrate their tenth anniversary as roommates. Schmidt plans an over-the-top bash, while Nick struggles to feel like he is playing a useful role in the planning. Eventually, Nick purchases a busted-up port-a-potty so that he can feel like he contributed to the party's success.
-Schmidt's perfectly planned party is ruined, however, when Cece's new boyfriend uses it as an opportunity to publicly propose to her. She accepts.
