Sargeant David Sanderson, the office from last week's stakeout, comes by to ask Leslie out on a date for coffee. At first she wants to go, but when he reveals he does know who Madeliene Albright, she suddenly wants out. Meanwhile, Leslie has been chosen to judge the Miss Pawnee beauty pageant. When Tom gets word, he wants in as a judge, and April thinking she can win $600 and an easy vote from her friend runs.
In the end, Tom and the rest of the judges go for the moron "hot one," while Leslie pushes for a girl with substance. When she sees the Sargeant come to see her and just ignore the hot girl, she decides maybe they do have something in common and agrees to get coffee.
Meanwhile, Ann invites Mark over to "fix her shower" if you know what I mean. She thanks him with a little dinner-type date, but discovers Andy has been living in the pit outside her house. Mark convinces her to let Andy comes inside from the rain and have some dinner. He soon regrets it when Andy acts like the hilarious child he is.
