Ben and Leslie are put on an ethics trial for their relationship. While Ben is outside Leslie is forced to defend herself from Chris’s star witnesses, accusations, and his stressed out demeanor.

While Leslie puts the Parks Department to work in countering every one of Chris’ accusations Ben calls for a private meeting with the ethics board and turns in his resignation. Saving both he and Leslie the trouble of potentially being fired.

At the end of the episode Ben and Leslie both declare their love for each other through the court transcripts, and subsequently read them to each other.
