Alison asks to live with Hanna while her father is out of town, and Hanna reluctantly agrees. However, Hanna spends most of her time getting drunk with Caleb and getting hit on by Zack (Ella Montgomery's fiance).

When she finally tells Aria about Zack, Aria blames her for all the trouble the girls have been having lately. Alison uses her time at the Marin's house to convince at least one adult, Ashley, that she needs protecting.

She has Noel Kahn break in while Ashley is home, which of course makes Ashley stand up to Detective Tanner for Alison.

Meanwhile, Emily and Spencer investigate some information about Bethany that Aria found out from Rhonda at Radley.

They look for the horse that Mrs. DiLaurentis apparently adopted for Bethany on one of their many outings. They don't find out much until Spencer notices Melissa's riding helmet. Then, A locks them in the stall with an agitated horse, but they are able to escape.
