As Violet’s personal life takes a turn for the better, Joanna (the abused woman she met at the airport months earlier) arrives in need of urgent medical attention, being both pregnant and badly beaten. She ends up losing her baby and is severely hurt. In an attempt to help her and keep her away from her husband, Violet has Joanna stay at her home. David, Joanna’s husband, breaks in and is stabbed to death by his wife.
Meanwhile Cooper, Charlotte and Amelia all counsel Erica on the toughest decision of her life. She decides that she does not want to endure the pain of chemotherapy.
Addison and Jake meet with potential surrogates while Addie finally decides that she needs a break from all of the baby processes.
